Telengana MLC K. Kavitha denied bail by Rouse Avenue Sessions Court

Sunil Negi May 6, 2024 0

The District Sessions Court of Rouse Avenue, Delhi dealing with CBI and ED cases of complex nature today denied bail to the daughter of former and first CM of Telangana K. Chandrashekhar and MLC K.Kavitha who is in Tihar Jail in connection with the CBI and ED cases stemmed out of the liquor scam pertaining to the Delhi government’s New Liquor policy n subsequently allegedly paying bribe of approximately Rs 100 crores to Delhi CM and former deputy CM who are also in Tihar prison. It is believed that the South Lobby accused of allegedly paying Rs 100 crores for seeking favour in liquor scam Delhi was allegedly done at the behest Telangana MLC K Kavitha who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 11 from Hyderabad following allegations of her involvement in the liquor scam allegedly paying a hefty amount to Delhi lobby. The bail was reflected by the judge Kaveri Baveja. The Central Bureau of Investigations has registered the case under PMLA pertaining to money laundering with the premier investigative agency accusing her for arranging heavy illegal gratification for Delhi politicians of AAP to seek favours in the liquor scam via the new excise policy 2021 manipulating it to favour the liquor barons,or businessmen of the South at her behest. It may be recalled that the case of Delhi CM Arvind Kejrival who is in Tihar prison on the same charges of allegedly accepting the illegal money to favour K.Kavitha n South Lobby pertaining to the new liquor policy has been fixed for hearing in Supreme Court on May 7. The Delhi CM has filed a petition in Supreme Court after the Delhi High Court had turned it down terming as the Kingpin. However, he challenged his arrest as illegal and arbitrary in Supreme Court which has fixed it for hearing on 7 th May reprimanding the ED saying that it will have to submit the logic behind arresting him without any credible evidence and that too in the mid of the election campaigning especially after seven days of Elections Commission’s Code of Conduct. The two judge bench of SC comprising of Justice Dipankar Datta and justice Sanjiv Khanna has even said that they may give bail to the Delhi CM and ED should be prepared for this possibility.
