DELHI CONGRESS CHIEF ARVINDER SINGH LOVELY RESIGNS IN IN PROTEST AGAINST ALLIANCE WITH AAP
In the mid of the hectic election campaigning by INDIAN NATIONAL DEVELOPMENTAL INCLUSIVE ALLIANCE and the BJP in Delhi the Congress party suffered yet another setback when the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president and former Delhi minister during Shila Dikshit’s tenure has resigned from his post in protest against the Congress alliance with Aam Admi Party which has in the past levelled serious charges of corruption against the governments of Delhi and centre ruled by Congress led UPA. In a protest resignation letter written to Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge the Delhi Congress president said that the party high command has established alliance with a party that was born out of its incessant biased , fabricated, misleading and untrue accusations of corruption and inefficiency against Congress party.
Lovely said that despite this hard fact that AAP was born out of its opposition of the then Congress governments , it has formed an alliance with it in Delhi.
Kindly recall that Arvinder Singh Lovely was appointed as the Delhi Congress chief in August 2023 for the second time.
However, he had resigned earlier too and had defected to BJP but returned to his parent party after he was not entertained in Delhi BJP much.
In a letter written to Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, annoyed Arvinder Singh Lovely wrote that Delhi Congress incharge General Secretary has used his veto against the unanimous decision of all the leaders of Delhi Congress who weren’t interested to have any alliance with AAP in Delhi interested to contest on all seats.
He wrote that since his appointment as the Delhi Congress president , the DPCC incharge general secretary had never given his permission to do any senior appointments in Delhi organisation. The post of media chief of Delhi when finalised by me appointing an experienced senior leader , it was outrightly rejected said annoyed Delhi president of Congress. The Delhi incharge general secretary has till date has not granted any permission to appoint the block presidents as a result, the posts of block presidents are lying vacant in 150 blocks wrote Arvinder Singh Lovely.
He categorically said that the Delhi Congress was outrightly against holding any alliance with AAP as it was the party born out of its incessant accusations against Congress n its governments on baseless, fabricated and false charges of rampant corruption whereas the fact remains that its CM and several ministers are behind bars under the charges of corruption wrote Delhi Congress chief Arvinder Singh Lovely.
He also criticised the East Delhi candidate of INDI Alliance Kanhaiya Kumar for publicly admiring the good and pro people services given by the AAP government to the Delhi electorates in water, electricity , education and health sector terming the alliance with AAP absolutely untenable and wrong saying that since the Congress party is unable to protect the rights n interests of its workers, he is tendering resignation from the post of Delhi president.
It may be recalled that Arvinder Singh Lovely is annoyed not only over the pact with AAP but also because the candidates of his choice n he himself was sidelined as one of the applicants from Delhi.
