The brutal deaths and injuries through man-eater attacks is going in unabated in Uttarakhand with the situation having gone out of hand. The Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami too had expressed his serious concern on the increasing brutal deaths of people by man-eaters in Uttarakhand and the wild life or forest department not able to cope with the critical situation despite so much of man-eater injuries and casualties. The Garhwal and Kumaon divisions of the Himalayan state are badly man-eater ridden these days as leopards and tigers can be easily seen roaming around near human habitats on prowl for human flesh – in villages and even noisy crowded townships. During the past few days nine women were injured in KIRTINAGAR and DEVPRAYAG areas when they had gone to the nearby agricultural fields n jungles for daily chores and collecting fodder for domestic animals. A child was also brutally killed by the man-eater. In Pauri township near several villages , in Kaljikhal block and at Ghurdari Engineering college range man-eaters are seen freely roaming posing direct threat to the children, women and senior citizens, especially during evening hours. Every day people’s lives are at risk. Just last evening a violent animal took away a 23 year old girl from Talla Bagad village of Nainital, the footprints are like those of a tiger, the local rural and forest department team is busy searching for the girl. But darkness and rain blocked the way at many places. The girl’s mobile and slippers have been recovered, but the girl has not been traced since yesterday evening. Few months ago few women had become the victim of a man-eater at Maletha and Kirtinagar , NAITHANA CHOURAS including DEVPRAYAG areas and the fear of the carnivores is constant especially for school going children women working in farms and going out to cut grass and fodder for domestic animals. In Lansdowne and Rikhnikhal areas too man-eaters are extremely active killing a forest guards months ago. The village inhabitants of Talla Bagad have been searching the missing girls in the jungles since last evening but of no avail.
