Three judge bench of Supreme Court to hear the plea filed by Hemant Soren against his arrest on Friday

The Supreme Court’s three judge bench comprising of the chief justice D. Y. Chandrachud, justice J. B. Pardiwala and justice Manoj Mishra will hear the petition filed by the former Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren who has challenged his arrest by Enforcement Directorate through his counsel Senior advocate of Supreme Court Kapil Sibal. The Apex Court with hear the case on Friday to be represented by senior advocate Kapil Sibal. The counsel of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader and former CM Hemant Soren, Kapil Sibal has said in the Court that his client will take back the appeal filed in the Jharkhand High Court. The former chief minister of Jharkhand who is currently under ED’s, detention in money laundering charges in connection with a land scam has challenged his arrest by the ED and the three judge bench of Supreme Court has agreed to hear his plea on Friday. Alongwith senior advocate Supreme Court Kapil Sibal, Mr. Abhishek Manu Singhvi is also assisting Hemant Soren having informed the Apex Court that their client is taking back the appeal filed in high Court. Kindly recall that the then CM of Jharkhand Hemant Soren who was evading arrest by the ED for the last two days was interrogated on Wednesday for seven hours and thereafter arrested. A senior JMM leader and former cabinet minister of transport of Jharkhand Champai Soren has been unanimously named as the next CM who had send the letter of support by 47 MLAs of JMM, Congress etc to the Governor Mr. Gopal Krishnan.
