Water supply will be affected on 22 nd and 23 rd January in several parts of Delhi reveals Delhi Jal Board’s notice

Water supply will be affected in several parts of the national Capital teritory of Delhi on the day of historic consecration of Lord Rama statue and Ram temple at Ayodhya on 22 nd and 23 rd January.

According to the Delhi Jal Board which maintains the water supply in entire Delhi , the water supply will be affected in several parts of Delhi in view of cleaning of under water reservoirs and booster pumping stations.

The areas to be affected in Delhi due to the two days cleanliness drive of DJB of Underground water reservoirs and booster pumping stations are : Defense Colony, South Extension, Rohini, Mehrauli, Maidangarhi, Jasola Vihar, Harkesh Nagar, Sanjay Colony, Okhla Phase -2, Central Secretariat, Rashtrapati Bhavan, Sansad Bhavan, India Gate, Ashok Road. Apart from this, water supply will also be affected in Nirman Bhawan, Sunder Nagar, Lodhi Road, Vigyan Bhawan and Connaught Place. It was told that other parts of the city where water supply will be affected include Janpath, Rakab Ganj, North Avenue, Pitampura, Shalimar Bagh and NDMC areas.

While expressing its regret for this inconvenience of two days to the residents of the areas mentioned above, the Delhi Jal Board through its notice said that since there will be flushing of booster pumping stations and underground water reservoirs there won’t be or little water supply on 22 nd and 23 rd January in Central and South Delhi including some localities of North West Delhi for which the DJB feels apologetic and regrets the inconvenience caused to the residents of the affected localities in Delhi.

It may be recalled that on 18 and 19 January , Delhites in some localities have confronted lot if inconvenience due to no or irregular water supply.

This was so because the DJB fixed the flowmeter in South Delhi rising main in Sonia Vihar Water treatment plant and carried out treatment works etc which had affected the water supply for 26 long hours. This resulted in people facing tremendous inconvenience. According to DJB there will be water tankers supply on requests from the residents.
