Delhi markets and Bazaars to open on 9 th June ?
There seems to be every possibility of unlocking of markets in Delhi after 7 th June, particularly in view of the pandemic drastically coming down to one percent, quite below one thousand cases on Thursday from more than thirty thousand cases during the last five weeks after the lockdown was imposed by the Delhi government.
The decline in pandemic was from thirty thousand cases to 6000 to 3000 to finally 1000 n 500 cases beyond anyone’s imagination with the availability of general and ICU beds also enhancing in Delhi’s private and government hospitals.
During the second wave surge in Covid cases all over India, the national capital was one of the worst hit states with more than thirty thousand cases witnessed every day, last month, with complaints of oxygen, oxymetres, ICU beds shortages erupting etc resulting in Covid related fatalities also going up adding to total deaths till date to 24 thousand 403 numbers with daily deaths also coming down from 400 to fifty numbers every day. On Thursday, about 45 patients of Covid has succumbed to the disease.
The vaccination in Delhi had also been on a war footing at the decentralised level despite shortage of vaccines leading to closure of all the vaccination centres apart from seven week lockdown.
According to the latest feedback about seventy four percent Delhites have favoured unlocking of markets in Delhi in view of the pandemic coming down to one percent, beyond anybody’s expectation.
But they are of the opinion that the unlocking should be in a phased manner to avoid further spike as was witnessed a month ago during the second wave of pandemic.
Moreover there is a pressure of the shopkeeper associations also on the state government suffering due to a seven week closure though they also agree that the decision was taken for the good of the people, especially when the second wave had terrified one n all will lots of fatalities.
The Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has said that he will again urge the LG to convene the meeting of DDMA to arrive at the cumulative decision to open the Delhi market and shops in view of the drastically dropping in pandemic cases.
Kindly recall that the govt of NCT of Delhi had in view of the Covid surge had during the last one month imposed lockdown for five weeks in May having started from 1st May, further extending it to June 7. Then 54% of the Delhites through local survey have granted their consent for opening of the lockdown but as a precautionary measure it was again extended till 7 th June with a partial decisiin to open factories and construction activities.
However, this decision was welcomed but in view of the markets, hardware n other construction material related shops closed, the factories’ management and the builders etc were hapless with construction workers sitting idle as they could not purchase the building materials n other things.
This may lead the government to open the market fully, though during survey the demand have been for opening it in a phased manner.
In view of the above, there is every possibility of opening of markets in Delhi after the lockdown ends on 7 th June especially in view of 74% population favouring it, but in a phased manner, with the government to minutely watch the aftermath results of the unlockdown, till two weeks n in case the situation deteriorates the lockdown may be re imposed further.
The formal decision in this regard however, will be taken in the meeting of DDMA to be chaired by LG of Delhi Mr. Anil Baijal.

Yes. Markets should open. Metro should run.
Ok thanks
Yes. It’s time to open up the market but why this odd even?
🕉️It is good sign provided the figures given are authentic and correct.
In my opinion the shops must be opened for a longer period so that cluttering up of customers is thinned out in such wide timings rather than opening shops for less time makes people to clutter up and social distance maintenance of, becomes difficult.🕉️
Thanks Sir
