After finalising the names of chief ministers of two states viz. Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh after so much of internal silent wrangling and hectic discussions, now is the turn of the toughest state Rajasthan where the former chief minister and a BJP heavy weight septuagenarian Vasundhara Raje Scindia is a biggest headache and bottleneck for the saffron party central High command. According to the latest political developments while the name of Rajasthan’s prospective CM candidate will be out today the moot question is whether the BJP high command will bow to the pressures of Vasundhara Raje Scindia or go the way they have given chance to the fresh young faces in Chattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh leaving behind the former CMs and BJP heavily weights.
However, the answers of all these questions will be given today as the BJP leadership do not want to further make its position ridiculous in the eyes of the opposition. It may be recalled that Congress party had already declared its CM of Telangana on day third as compared to ten days of BJP. According to the latest news the three observers of Rajasthan have already reached Jaipur who will be meeting the legislators separately or in groups to elicit their views on their respective choice on the prospective CM candidate, though as usual the central High command must have already decided on the protective candidate. However, the name of the new CM will be declared by the observers viz. Union defence minister Rajnath Singh, Mr. Tawde and one more leader of BJP in the legislature party meeting after extensive discussion. If we go in the names of the prospective names for the post of chief minister of Rajasthan, the former CM Vasundhara Raje is the best bet who has good number of MLAs on her side having met them number of times. She had been in Delhi for the last three days impressing upon the central leadership to consider her name.
Other names doing the rounds for the Rajasthan CM are Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Baba Balak Nath, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Ashwani Vaishnav, Arjun Singh Meghwal, CP Joshi, Diya Kumar, Kirodi Mal Veena, Om Birla and Om Mathura etc.
The crux of the entire political developments of Rajasthan is that the central High command of BJP is not interested or inclined to accept Vasundhara Raje as their next CM, especially PM Narendra Modi and union home minister Amit Shah in view of her rebel attitude and news about her hobnobbing with the former CM Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot including meeting her groups MLAs separately instigating them for alleged rebellion in case she is not named as the next CM of Rajasthan.
The former CM is constantly busy in showing her MLAs strength to the central leadership and the media and meeting MLAs of her faction separately to which the BJP national chief J. P. Nadda has strongly objected. The BJP high command has agreed to give the post of speaker to Vasundhara, Raje which she has outrightly rejected to accept.
The formula of Chhattisgarh and MP is being applied here where the former CM for three terms Raman Singh and union minister Narendra Singh Tomar were inducted as speaker. On the contrary hell bent upon becoming the CM of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje has requested to make her CM for just one year if not full term but the leadership bid not agreeing to it reveal sources. Now, the interesting aspect of the entire development is whether the high command falls to the pressure of BJP heavy weight Vasundhara Raje or gives her a damn. Rajasthan situation being extremely crucial the Union Minister Rajnath Singh, Rajya, Sabha MP Aaron Pandey and national general secretary Vinod Tawade are in Jaipur to resolve this tangle.
