SAMEER Khakhar “KHOPRI, OF NUTTAK SERIAL OF 1986 PASSES AWAY IN MUMBAI. RIP

Sameer Khakhar, television and Bollywood actor who was famous by the name of ” Khopri”, for playing an interesting character in the renowned television serial during eighties titled NUKKAD has, died this morning at 4.30 AM in ICU of a Mumbai hospital due to multiple organ failure after he complained of acute breathing problem. sameer was 71 years old. Kindly recall that NUKKAD television serial was very popular during eighties when doordarshan had the monopoly and was seen by one and all telecasted daily. Sameer Khakhar played the role of KHOPRI who used to be inebriated condition making audience laugh. NUKKAD became so famous that its all the characters left an imprint in the minds of the audience as a result even after thirty forty years it’s still fresh in everyone’s mind. According to the brother of the actor Ganesh Khakhar, Sameer complained of breathing problem and pain and was admitted in hospital. He was immediately shifted to ICU where he died at 4.30 AM sending shock waves in Television n Bollywood industry. The actor was take to MM hospital in Borivelli Mumbai due to respiratory issues but seeing his bad physical condition was shifted to ICU where he cannot recover but gave up due to multiple organ failure. Born on 9 August 1952 , Sameer was a television and Bollywood actor having worked in serials like NUKKAD, Shriman Srimati including in films Parinda, and Salman Khans Jai Ho etc. He had also acted brilliantly in a silent film titled Pushpaka Vimane in which he acted as a liquor addicted businessman who is kidnapped by the hero of the movie Kamal Hassan.
