Congress president Sonia and her daughter Priyanka gone in home isolation after infecting Covid. Rahul in high fever, Mallikarjun Khadge too infected with pandemic !
The Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi and her daughter, general secretary of Congress Priyanka Gandhi Vadra have been infected by Covid 19. This is the second time when Congress president has been infected with the pandemic. The result was known on Friday after she got herself tested. Earlier, last month the Congress president was infected with Covid 19 n her condition deteriorated further as a result of which she was admitted in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital for several days not able to attend the 8 th and 13 th August notices issued to her by ED.
There are also reports of former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi running on high fever having been tested. The results of the tests are expected later on. The senior Congress leader, general secretary incharge of Media n communication department of AICC Jairam Ramesh has informed about this development through his tweet yesterday. Meanwhile, the senior Congress leader, LOP and MP, octogenarian Mallikarjun Khadge has also reported through a tweet about his being infected with Covid 19 and has written to the Union defence minister for not being able to attend the official celebration on 15 th August due to being ill health after being infected with Covid 19. The Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and even Rahil Gandhi have gone into home isolation since Friday. And so has Mallikarjun Kadhge. In a tweet Jairam Ramesh wrote : Congress president Smt Sonia Gandhi has tested positive for Covid 19 today. She will remain in isolation as per Govt. Protocol.
Veteran Congress leader also tweeted after getting infected with Covid annexing his letter addressed to union defence minister, writing : Wrote to hon’ble Defence Minister of India Shri@rajnathsingh expressing my inability to be present at the flag hiisting of our 75 th Independence Day being under influence of Covid. Along with every proud Indian I’ll be joining the celebration in spirit of freedom tweeted LOP Khadge.
Meanwhile, in view of the high fever Rahul Gandhi may not hoist the national flag at 24 Akbar Road on Monday, 75 th India’s Independence Day. In his place senior Congress leader will hoist the national flag say news reports. However, if Rahul Gandhi’s health improve he will do the honour of hoisting the national flag.
