First father son duo World Record holder swimmers to be felicitated at Press Club of India on 21 st June !
The Press Club of India will felicitate the Asia Masters Golden medal winners Sanjeev Tokas and his outstanding swimmer son Arjun Tokas in Press Club of India premises on 21 st June, at 3.00 PM for their exceptional feats as swimmer raising the Indian flag high by establishing a first world record on 6 June 2022. This father son duo who are both exceptional swimmers have scored a first ever world swimming record by successfully crossing the Bonifacio channel from Corsika France to Sardegna Italy in five hours and three minutes. This is a first ever world record of a father son duo swimmers for having done this international outstanding feat in merely five hours against challenging weather, winds and odds.
According to the awardees they started from Punta Spereno beach at 8 in the morning and successfully arrived at the Rina Bianca Beach at 1.03 PM, lucky enough to have wonderful weather and light winds, despite challenging swimming.
According to the former management committee member of PCI Vijay Chaturvedi the PCI would be according them ( Sanjeev and Arjun Tokas) a grand reception on 21 st afternoon at the PCI premises at 3.00 PM in order to recognise and celebrate the outstanding swimming success of these first ever world record holders, father son duo swimmers by the journalist fraternity of the national capital.
The President of Press Club of India Umakant Lakhera and President of Uttarakhand Journalists Forum Sunil Negi have heartily congratulated both the father son duo international swimmers for establishing the first ever World Record in Swimming as the Father Son duo Swimmers by successfully crossing the Bonaficio channel in France from Corsika to Sardegna Italy in five hours making the world record.
Last week the PCI had accorded a warm reception to mountaineer and 1st Indian climber Baljeet Kaur who has successfully climbed five mountain peaks of the Himalayas in a single season viz Mount Annapurna, ( 8091 mtrs) on 28 th April, 2022, Mount Kanchenjunga, 8586 metres, 12 th May 2022, Mount Everest (8848. 86 metres) on 21 st May 2022, Mt Lhotse ( 8516 metres) , 22nd May, and Mt. Makalu (8463 metres) , 28 th May, 2022.
