Protest demonstrations held in various states of the country by Congress activists with train burnt in Bihar by outrageous youth against Agneepath policy of 4 year employment !

The country is witnessing series of protests some violent and some with fisticuffs n alteration with police in various states of the country. In Bihar while several trains have been burnt and people n police injured in protest demonstrations by outrageous mobs and protesters of opposition parties especially by young ones’ exhibiting their anger against the central government’s new Agnipath employment scheme in Armed Forces for four years demanding to maintain the status quo, the Congress party activists and leaders of various states protested in front of governor houses in state capitals to register their protests against the interrogation of ED in connection with the Young India and Associated Journals, National Herald case terming the ruling party’s action as vindictive against the Gandhi family .

The Congress leaders struggled with the state Police and courted arrests in Delhi, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Hyderabad and several state capitals of the country. The Congress leaders are apprehensive that their leader, former Congress chief n MP from South Rahul Gandhi may be arrested. In Hyderabad while protesting the senior vociferous Congress leader Renuka Chowdhary clashed with the police and held an officer by his collar in anger while demonstrating. She was arrested along with Congress activists and case, registered against her. In Delhi the Indian Youth Congress activists led by its national president Sriniwas BV protested vociferously and courted arrests.

The youth Congress activists were literally lifted by police by legs and hands and thrown in buses to be carried to the Mandir Marg police station where they were detained for several hours. The protestors were carrying playcards with slogans ” Agnipath Yojna Vapas, Lo”, ” jab youvaon ka bhavishya hi surakshit nahi rahega to ve desh sewa kaise karenge”,. The police had a very tough time dealing with the Indian Youth Congress protestors. In Jaipur, Rajasthan 144 was clamped outside the Raj Bhawan and the Congress leaders and activists protested outside the Railway Phatak vicinity airing their anger against their leader’s alleged harrasment by the ED authorities. In Lucknow too the Congress activists crossed the police barricades and forcibly marched towards the Governors House finally arrested. In Chandigarh and Uttarakhand similar protest marches were held with workers and leaders clashing with police and subsequently courting arrests. What is important here is that prime minister Narendra Modi was in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh where the state Congress president Pratibha Singh who is, also the state president held protest demonstration outside the Governors House. In Kerala and Delhi the Delhi Police and Kerala police had to use tear gas shells to disperse the crowds.

In Karnataka too the Congress chief DK Sri kumar and former CM Sidharamayya held demonstrations at governor house who were later on taken into police custody. However, in Bihar the protests have been quite violent where several trains have been burnt and railway lines damaged by errant crowd protesting against the newly introduced Agnipath employment policy of the ruling political dispensation at the centre demanding the old recruitment system continue in armed forces.
