During these days of hard times when everyone is busy minting profits and enjoying material comforts there are some people, having experienced poverty and real challenges in life hailing from lower middle class are really doing exceptional works in terms of helping people in distress not only for Indians working in foreign lands but for citizens of other countries as well, who become victims of certain unusual difficult circumstances stucked in jails or foreign land for paucity of funds or critical situations n unforeseen difficulties, finally praying to All mighty to come to their rescue and relieve them of their impending complexities and difficulties beyond anyone’s reach.
Can you believe that a gentleman, youthful Girish Pant of Berinag, Kumaon division of Uttarakhand have been helping not hundreds but thousands of Indians, Uttarakhandies and citizens of other countries working in foreign lands in acute distress helping them reaching their respective countries safely and their parents feeling immensely relieved.
Having worked even in a pan shop and sold vegetables in Delhi and experienced poverty and true challenges of life with his father in government job n running a petty shop after retirement, today Girish Pant, a philanthropist is serving in Dubai for the last several years and helping people in distress to the core.
His basic and primary aim is to serve the humanity by way of bringing every Indian and people of other countries in trouble, out of morass.
There had been most critical Covid times, ongoing Russia – Ukraine war, fishermen while fishing in Sharjah having gone mistakenly in Iranian shores, arrested and jailed, Indians working in Dubai and elsewhere trapped there due to the arbitrary human trafficking agents and in legal hassles, some jailed and several badly ill, even died during Covid times, lots losing their jobs with no money desperately eager to come to India reuniting with their parents, performing the last rites of those unfortunate people who died due to Covid , he was none other but Girish Pant of Berinag in Dubai who came to everyones’ rescue having till now ferried three thousand people in distress from foreign lands to India and other countries of the globe.
He not only helps Indians but persons of all nationalities living abroad in various countries apart from Dubai.
This is undoubtedly a unique example of an outstanding feat, a true n transparent social service ever done by any human being working abroad putting his everything into it ( serving the humanity) with the sole aim to help the humanity.
According to various news reports Girish Pant, the recipient of several awards and recognitions for his outstanding services in critical times, was also felicitated with the prestigious Bhartiya Pravasi Samman Award in Varanasi, the highest award for an NRI by the president of India Ram Nath Kovind.
The immense outstanding contribution of Girish Pant can be gauged from the fact that apart from fifty awards acknowledged by him, the Consul General of India in Dubai Vipul has lauded his exceptional contribution while he was transferred to Delhi from his then position as Consul General.
Issuing a commendation letter to Girish, Vipul complimented him for his unique and outstanding contribution to help Indians stuck in Dubai, UAE, Sharjah and other Northern Emirates for repatriating Indians to India, hospitalizing them, providing food assistance, sending back mortal remains and even performing the last rites in Dubai of those hard lucked people who died due to dreaded Covid. Salutes Girish Pant.
During the repatriation of Indian students in Ukraine stucked in a war torn country, sailing in troubled waters he was Girish Pant among others who came as a messiah for them and helped 2500 students reach India with governmental efforts.
But what is shocking is the fact that despite so much of humanitarian contribution abroad for Indians and even Uttarakhandies in Dubai and elsewhere, the government n its firmer n present chief Ministers have never recognised Girish Pant despite the hard fact that he had met the former CMs Trivendra Singh Rawat and Pushkar Singh Dhami who recognised the players, singers and even appointed Bollywood stars as their ambassadors but have no time to recognise the yeoman philanthropic contribution of youngsters like Girish Pant. Sad.
