Uttarakhand CM conducts surprise visit at RTO office, Dehradun. Finds 80% staff absent by 10.20 AM including RTO. Talks to CS.
The Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has today warned the late comer employees of various government departments of Uttarakhand of facing serious action if they don’t attend their respective offices in time at 9.30 or 10.00 AM. He today talked to the chief secretary and complained about the RTO and eighty percent employees not reaching their office till 10.15 AM directing to suspend the RTO and stopping the salary of the late comers. He spoke to the CS from the chamber of RTO office taking all the attendance registers with him. The chief minister today conducted a surprise inspection at the RTO office, Dehradun at 9.45 AM and stayed there till 10.20 PM visiting various counters and rooms finding about eighty percent employees having not reached the office till 10.20. Annoyed by the late comers causing inconvenience to the people visiting RTO office and standing in queues, the chief minister while taking rounds of the office asked his staff to confiscate the attendance registers and suspend the RTO. He spoke to chief secretary and directed to take immediate strong action against the RTO and employees. The chief minister while speaking to media said that he had been receiving numerous complaints about inconvenience to the people due to negligence of the staff. Hence he conducted the surprise inspection finding eighty percent of the staff missing on their seats by 10.20 AM. He issued warning to all government employees of Uttarakhand government departments to be on their respective duties by 9.30 or 10.AM failing which they will not be spared for serious departmental actions.
Such uninformed visits will catch many officials missing from duty. The correct step to suspend RTO, who is responsible to ensure disciple in the office. Adherence to office timing and judging performance by the out put for each official behind the desk is must. CM action should be loaded.
