Uttarakhand CM Dhami thanks Congress MLA Harish Dhami for his kind gesture but says his MLAs too have offered their seats. He added party high command will take appropriate action!

The Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami who is in Delhi today to participate in the Ayodhya Parv organised by Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti thanked the Congress lawmaker from Dharchula Harish Dhami for offering his seat for him saying that while his several party lawmakers have also offered their seats to him, the final decision in this regard will be taken by the party high command.

It may be recalled that after losing from Khatima, the two term lawmaker earlier, Pushkar Singh Dhami was made the state CM for the second time and will have to contest the assembly election within six months as per constitutional requirement.

While about four MLAs of his party had offered their seats earlier before his becoming the CM of Uttarakhand when his name was being speculated for the CM’s post, a Congress MLA badly annoyed by the party leaders and high command Harish Dhami has already declared that he intends to resign from his assembly seat in favour of the CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, but has also clarified that he will consult his electorates and if they will give their consent, he is ready to tender resignation.

Addressing the electorates and party workers of Dharchula he catagorically said that he will not contest the election in 2027 on Congress ticket, even if the party will stand better chances to win, as he is fed up with party leaders for outrightly betraying him and nominating opportunist and junior leaders of CLP unambiguously naming former minister in BJP government Yashpal Arya and Bhuvan Kapri ( a first time MLA) instead of him, who has won on Congress ticket for the third time.

There is open resentment by about ten MLAs in Uttarakhand Congress about whom there are media reports of their likely leaving Congress to join the saffron party.

Meanwhile, the party’s Uttarakhand Congress president Karan Mahra, who himself lost from his constituency today met Pritam Singh, former opposition leader and other MLAs trying to appease them not to take any step or action that will weaken the party which is, already in doldrums getting 19 seats only.

The leader of the opposition Pritam Singh and former Uttarakhand Congress president Ganesh Godiyal are also annoyed after they have been left out and junior leaders and defector Yashpal Arya made the opposition leader who had tasted power as minister for full five years in BJP government n thereafter joining Congress at the nick of the time, thinking that Congress will form it’s governnent.

Moreover, the president Karan Mahara, who himself lost, n deputy CLP leader a first timer Bhuvan Kapri n CLP leader Yashpal Arya are from Kumaun region with Garhwal having no representation on the key posts, thus giving a, step motherly treatment to Garhwal region said Ganesh Godital, former Congress chief who was asked to resign by Congress high command after the party’s drubbing in state elections.

The MLAs annoyed with the Congress high command and allegedly wanting to change sides are Harish Dhami, Mayuk Mahar, Manoj Tiwari, Madan Bisht, Khushal Singh, Mamta Rakesh, Vikram Negi, Rajendra Bhandari etc. Reveal various news reports.

Meanwhile, on the uniform civil code matter the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has referred it to the home department of Uttarakhand to form a suitable committe and prepare a draft at the earliest.
