UKD questions shady land deal in Uttarakhand. Threatens to go to hon’ble High court for justice.

The Uttarakhand Kranti Dal has accused the land mafias for allegedly embezzling the government properties, lands and outrightly demanded an independent impartial enquiry through a independent enquiry commission to be set up by the state government and in case the needful is not done, has threatened to pursue the matter in the honourable high court by filing a Public Interest Litigation.

Addressing a press conference in Dehradun today, the media incharge of Uttarakhand Kranti Dal, a journalist turned politician who has contested from Doiwala assembly seat, under Dehradun district but lost, Shiv Prasad Semwal while giving some instances of government land at Ring Road Dehradun allegedly held some leaders and bureaucrats for secretly collaborating with land mafia, accusing them of embezzlement of the vast tract of govt land measuring 350 Bighas, further complaining that no action whatsoever had been taken in the matter against the erring trio by the law enforcing agencies.

Accusing the ruling party, Uttarakhand Kranti Dal spokesman – Shiv Prasad Semwal said that it had in 2011 also purchased a land for its office n it’s precincts worth Rs Three Crores.

Till today, the mutation of this land has not been executed, the reason being that this 350 Biga land is of Tea Gardens said journalist n UKD leader Semwal.

He added that neither the land use of this land can be changed officially and technically nor can it be registered, legally.

Giving the reference of the Supreme Court guidelines and the land Act, Uttarakhand Kranti Dal’s spokesman Shiv Prasad Semwal said after the deadline of 10 th October 1975, the Registry of this land automatically ceases to exist and the said land with also be implied as government’s land.

According to the press release of Shiv Prasad Semwal released after speaking to the media, the land mafia has also illegally captured a major part of the football ground reserved for it by the master plan of MDDA.

He also allegedly accused the Patwari concerned and the district administration for secretive collaboration in this shady deal.

Expressing his anger over this alleged shady land deal being embezzled arbitrarily, the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal leader – Shiv Prasad Semwal unambiguously said that if his just demand for a high level inquiry committe is not heeded and impartial probe not commenced, the UKD will be constrained to file a writ petition in honourable Uttarakhand High Court, including taking this case in the court of people as well through democratic movement to highlight this alleged corruption to the fore.

He also threatened to mobilise widespread people’s movement against this massive shady land deal to seek justice.

This is necessary in order to protect Uttarakhand from its other lands to be arbitrarily captured by the land mafia active in Uttarakhand warned Uttarakhand Kranti Dal leader Shiv Prasad Semwal in the press conference on Sunday.

Recalling the past UKD’s spokesman and journalist turned politician said that the land owner Chandra Bahadur Singh had declared the entire above quoted land as Tea Gardens. Semwal clarified that Chandra Bahadur Singh didn’t had any child but his wife, showing herself to be the sole inheritor of this land, took the official rights of the land.

Since then the registry of this land is in continuation said Semwal.

According to Semwal, either this entire property ( land) is illegal or will automatically be the government’s land in future, fir sure, said UKD spokesman, but despite all this, the government is maintaining its astonishing silence which is quite worrisome.

The question is why, asked Semwal?

He confidently said that if Uttarakhand goes into the court of law then the bureaucrats allegedly involved in this shady deal will be questioned for sure?

Kindly recall that demand for a new concrete land Act of Uttarakhand is being raised since the last one year with the present government of Uttarakhand having already formed a high level committee befor the assembly election assuring the electorates of doing the needful, if the party comes to power. Now, the saffron party has got an absolute majority with the former CM Pushkar Singh Dhami repeating himself as well. People have high expectations on him as he was the one who pledged to introduce a new concrete land act during election campaigning. Let’s see if this really gets implemented and people’s long pending demand fulfilled in the near future.

What holds a well wishing political party collectively or any of its member individually to straightaway file PIL before the HHC of Nainital rather than peace meal reporting?
The land mafias can not operate without conniving with officials of the ministry or the political leader/s.

Every such irregularities or act of corruption in govt land, must be brought to the notice of Govt as first noticed. If the ministry concerned doesn’t act upon such report the CM must be apprised of these irregularities and finally if still not heeded upon then file PIL before HHC.
