The 107th birth anniversary of late Lala Ramcharan Agarwal, the first Deputy Mayor of Delhi and a renowned freedom fighter, was celebrated with great fervor. A tribute was paid to him at Ramcharan Agarwal Chowk (ITO) with floral offerings and homage.
Lala Ramcharan Agarwal ji was a prominent figure in India’s freedom struggle. He was one of the eleven individuals chosen by Mahatma Gandhi for individual satyagraha. Born on December 2, 1917, he played a crucial role in India’s freedom struggle and was honored with a tamrapatra by former President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed for his contributions.
On this occasion, his son and former DPCC President and MP J.P. Agarwal, and several former MLAs and councilors paid their respects to him. J.P. Agarwal said that Lala Ramcharan Agarwal ji’s life and work are inspirational. He made significant contributions to India’s freedom struggle and served as Delhi’s first Deputy Mayor. His legacy continues to inspire us, and paying tribute to him on his birth anniversary is a matter of honor.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including AICC Incharge Delhi Congress Kazi Nizamuddin, Secretary AICC Danish Abrar, and several other senior Congress leaders, former MLAs, and councilors. They all paid floral tributes to Lala Ramcharan Agarwal ji and remembered his contributions to India’s freedom struggle.
