It has become extremely risky and dangerous to walk during even the day time in Pauri Garhwal where the predators, the maneater leopards/ tigers are openly wandering for human flesh near the human habitats in villages and Pauri township.
Though evening and night hours are more risky.
Every now and then there are wild life human conflucts going on and the latter are their fatal victims.
Just yesterday evening a man of Kamadh village in Idwalsiun patti in Pauri block had fallen prey to the jaws of a maneater killing him on the spot who was going to his agricultural fields to collect fodder and grass for the domestic pet animals , cows, buffaloes and goats etc.
A maneater leopard was clandestinely on prowl and pounced on Mohan , aged 58 years grappling him from the throat and dragging him to the nearby bushes killing instantaneously.
There is panic all around in the area. There was already a news about few maneater leopards roaming around freely in Idwalsiun patti and people have been complaining but of no avail and finally this killing. So sad and tragic.
A few days ago a woman had become the prey of a maneater in Bamtee village under the jurisdiction of the Pauri block in Idwalsiun patti of district Pauri Garhwal and the predators were roaming freely since then in this area but the wild life and forest departments have taken no care to fix the iron cages or tranquilize the carnivores to nab them avoiding this tragedy at another nearest village Baang. This is the apathy of the government departments. Om Shanti.
The infuriated villagers of Baang village are not allowing the forest department or the police to lift the body for completing the necessary formalities till the DM Swati Bhadoriya reached there and gives them the assurance for their future safety from the wild animals.
They are also angered that the MP Anil Baluni has not reached there to share the grief of the villagers despite two maneater kills one in Bamptee village and another at Bang village. The atmosphere in and surrounding villages is tense and the villagers are not ready to relent till the DM reached there.

These immortal leopards must be shot on the spots… No need to show mercy if govt can’t take this step then mob should set them on fire. Enough of the wildlife excuse.
What about the life of people who are hardly managing to survive there. Sometimes I feel this too is a conspiracy to get the mountains evacuated.
