Youth Congress chief and activists arrested while protesting against Pegasus spyware outside Parliament house

The Youth Congress activists today protested against the Israel Spyware Pegasus outside parliament House for the second time in a week and courted arrests. The protest demonstration of hundreds of vociferous anti government slogan shouting youth Congress activists were led by its national president Sriniwas BV.

There were good number of policemen guarding the protest area and had a hard day confronting the vociferous slogan shouting youth congress activists including its president Sriniwas BV and national as well as state office bearers holding play cards in their hands denouncing the BJP led government for buying the spyware from an Israel company and allegedly spying against Congress leaders, leaders of the opposition, journalists etc especially after the report was published in New York Times.

This demonstration of IYC activists holds Special significance as the parliament budget session is on and the Congress party is interested to raise this issue in Parliament as well with Rahul Gandhi and other opposition leaders having raised it in both houses of parliament earlier as well. The Youth Congress chief Sriniwas BV termed this action as arbitrary against the freedom of the press and free speech and expression including invasion on the rights of freedom of political leaders of the country by clandestinely spying against them. Criticising the government the Youth Congress leader termed it as misuse and murder of democracy in free India.
