Young woman injured by a maneater at Dwarhat, Almora
Govind Gopal
A 34-year-old woman, Mrs. Kheema Devi, wife of Mahendra Singh, who had gone to cut grass near the fields in village Tumdi of Dwarahat range under Almora Forest Division, was injured by a leopard. The fortunate thing is that she was saved by fellow women by scaring the man-eater with noise and wooden sticks.
Deep wounds have been made below the neck and if the female companions were not there then a major disaster would have happened. In fact by the presence of mind n bravery they have averted a tragedy. Kudos.
The forest department officials are requested to install cages around the incident site with immediate effect.
