Young man from Karnataka jumps into a ravishing river in Chamoli district , saved by alert team of police and forest department

The Chitragupt police team and the forest ranger Ms Chetna Kandpal and her dedicated team deserves to be complimented for saving the life of a young man who is believed to have jumped into a ravishing river this afternoon near Taiyyar Bridge, Matmailee, Govindghat in Uttarakhand hailing from South India.


According to the latest report this afternoon, a highly tensed local person informed the Govindghat police station that a man had jumped into the river near the Taiya Bridge (Patmeli).

Upon receiving the information, Inspector-in-Charge Chitragupta immediately arrived at the scene with a police team. The Forest Ranger Chetna Kandpal was also present at the scene with her team.

The man was found stranded on a rock in the middle of the river, making it extremely difficult and risky to reach it.

Given the gravity of the situation, the SDRF was immediately called to the scene.

Through a combined effort by the police, SDRF, and forest department, a meticulous rescue operation was conducted and the man was safely pulled from the river reveals the news report.

The rescued man has been identified as Mounish, son of Lakshyamappa, a resident of Kartaji, Karnataka. During questioning, he revealed that he had come to visit Shri Badrinath Dham. The pilgrim suffered minor injuries and is receiving first aid at the police station. Police are currently contacting his family in Karnataka.
