a resident of Kharhi, Tehsil Pati, Champawat of 18 Kumaon regiment was martyred at Baira under mysterious circumstances nog yet clear whether it was a suicide or death by a bullet in a cross firing etc on the line of duty. Braveheart Deepak Singh of 18 Kumaon Regiment was to be married shortly and the family was anxiously and curiously looking for his return. He was posted at Baira in Poonch sector, border of Jammu and Kashmir when all of a sudden a gunshot in his campaign killed him tragically the reason yet to ascertained as to whether it was a suicide or a bullet coming from the extremists etc. the bereaved family is badly traumatised as the braveheart was to be married next month. He had been tk his village few days ago and was on duty at Poonch sector border area when this heartwrenching tragedy occured. Sad and heartwrenching hundred. His coffin draped in national tricolour will reach his home village in Monday afternoon and thereafter to be consigned to flames after the villagers and the people of the surrounding villages including relatives bid him a final adieu. It is being said that he was shot on the line of control during his duty hours. The versions are different. We really miss a braveheart and a patriotic soldier who at his young age joined Agniveer just two years ago to serve our nation.
