Woman injured by leopard ( man-eater) in Ram Nagar range of Terai, admitted in hospital

The terror of leopard is not stopping in Uttarakhand hills. Now a leopard attacked a woman who was cutting grass in the garden in Kalusiddh, Ramnagar Range of Ramnagar Terai Western Forest Department.

The women who had accompanied the injured victim from the nearby villagers raised an alarm and the leopard ran away from the spot.

As soon as the information was received, the Forest Department team is patrolling the spot. The woman is undergoing treatment in Ramnagar hospital.

According to the information, 52 year old Prabha Devi, wife of Surendra Kumar, is a resident of Kalusidh, Ram Nagar area, Uttarakhand.

On Friday morning, the woman had gone to a nearby garden to harvest food for the animals. Meanwhile, a leopard clandestinely on prowl for human flesh pounced and attacked the woman.

As soon as the attack took place, the women cutting grass nearby raised an alarm and some villagers reached the spot and seeing the people coming, the leopard ran away in a huff from the spot.

The injured woman was admitted to the government hospital in Ramnagar where she is undergoing treatment. Ramnagar Ranger JP Dimri, who reached the spot, said that a cage is being set up in the area to catch the leopard.
