Woman brutally killed by a maneater in a rivulet site at Kirtinagar, Garhwal, Uttarakhand. Human kills by maneaters, order of the day ?
The maneater tigers and leopards have indeed created havoc in Uttarakhand with human lives at stake every now and then. Accidents and maneater onslaughts on human beings have become an order of the day with men, women n children usual prey of these carnivores in Garhwal and Kumaon divisions. Just today morning a village woman has become the victim of a dreaded maneater finally giving up and brutally killed. According to a latest news a woman was killed brutally when a dreaded maneater pounced on her at Kirtinagar, Gursali Guthayen rivulet . This dreaded incident occurred at 10 in the morning. The deceased namely Lakshmi had gone to the said rivulet site along with her friends to cut grass ( fodder) for domestic animals, cows n Buffalo. While they were busy interacting and also cutting grass a hungry maneater on prowl for human prey ( flesh) clandestinely pounced on Lakshmi with other women running away in panic, making noise though badly terrified. The dead body of the deceased woman Lakshmi has been sent for post mortem at the Base hospital Srinagar. There is sensation and terror all around as this maneater was spotted few days ago as well. Several months ago about two women had been lynched by maneaters and there was tremendous panic around. But the forest and wild life department did nothing to either keep tab on the man eater, making it unconscious through tranquilizers or putting it in an iron cage by clandestinely capturing it. Had they done it in time this unfortunate incident could have been avoided.
आदमखोर बाघों और तेंदुओं ने वास्तव में उत्तराखंड में तबाही मचा रखी है और मानव जीवन हर समय खतरे में है। इंसानों पर दुर्घटनाएं और आदमखोर हमले आम बात हो गई है, गढ़वाल और कुमाऊं मंडलों में पुरुष, महिलाएं और बच्चे आम तौर पर इन मांसाहारियों के शिकार होते हैं। आज सुबह ही एक गांव की महिला एक खूंखार नरभक्षी का शिकार बन गई, आखिरकार हार मानकर उसे बेरहमी से मार डाला गया। ताजा समाचार के अनुसार कीर्तिनगर, गुरसाली गुथायेन नदी पर एक खूंखार नरभक्षी ने एक महिला पर हमला कर दिया, जिससे उसकी बेरहमी से हत्या कर दी गई। यह खौफनाक घटना सुबह 10 बजे घटी. मृतक लक्ष्मी अपने दोस्तों के साथ घरेलू पशुओं, गाय और भैंस के लिए घास (चारा) काटने के लिए उक्त नाला स्थल पर गई थी। जब वे बातचीत करने और घास काटने में व्यस्त थे, तो मानव शिकार (मांस) की तलाश में एक भूखा नरभक्षी, अन्य महिलाओं के साथ, घबराहट में भागते हुए, लक्ष्मी पर हमला कर दिया, हालांकि बुरी तरह से भयभीत था। मृतक महिला लक्ष्मी के शव को पोस्टमार्टम के लिए बेस अस्पताल श्रीनगर भेज दिया गया है। चारों ओर सनसनी और दहशत का माहौल है क्योंकि कुछ दिन पहले भी इस नरभक्षी को देखा गया था। कई महीने पहले आदमखोरों ने लगभग दो महिलाओं को मार डाला था और चारों ओर जबरदस्त दहशत फैल गई थी। लेकिन वन एवं वन्य जीव विभाग ने आदमखोर पर नजर रखने के लिए कुछ नहीं किया, न तो उसे ट्रैंक्विलाइजर के जरिए बेहोश किया और न ही उसे गुप्त रूप से पकड़कर लोहे के पिंजरे में डाला। यदि उन्होंने समय रहते ऐसा किया होता तो इस दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण घटना को टाला जा सकता था।’
