Why is the most sensitive Ankita Bhandari case not ready to lie down even after the announcement of the CBI probe
Despite the announcement of CBI inquiry in the most sensitive Ankita Bhandari case by the chief minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami honouring the demand of the aggrieved and traumatised parents , the issue is not ready to subside down.
Whether they’re the main opposition Congress party or the UKD or the civil society groups including the parents – all are still dissatisfied as everyone is saying that the recommendation for the India’s premier investigating agency probe, the Uttarakhand CM has not said anything about this sensitive probe being held under the direct monitoring of the Supreme Court or Uttarakhand High Court judge.
They are suspicious that in the absence of the monitoring of CBI probe by a senior judge the results would not be satisfactory as already witnessed in the matter of SIT investigations with several loopholes.
They argue that the CBI probe though recommended under the heavy pressure of the people of the state and elsewhere including the pressure of massive movements led by several political parties and civil society groups earlier as well as after the alleged name of VIPs were revealed in a conversation between an actress wife Urmilla and her BJP former MLA husband Suresh Rathore creating quite a political storm in Uttarakhand, it was too late and that too without any honourable senior judge of the Apex court or Uttarakhand High Court monitoring it.
The second alleged suspicion about these stakeholders and various political analysts and legal experts is that instead of taking the letter of aggrieved Ankita Bhandari’s father Virendra Singh into consideration for converting it into the FIR which was very specifically highlighting the demand for the CBI probe to nab the VIP the government has asked a HESCO chief and environmentalist , Padma Shree and Padma Bhushan Anil Joshi to write to the DG police, Uttarakhand which was converted into an FIR and finally sent to the Central government to be used by the CBI for further in-depth probe.
Though there is no objection on Anil Joshi writing to DG police demanding an investigation to nab the real VIP but majority of the people say that how can a person though highly respected who has never been associated with any movement or expressed concern in Ankita Bhandari case all of a sudden after announcement of the CBI probe file a complaint for FIR whereas the parents of Ankita Bhandari were not asked to do the same needful or their letter submitted to CM was used to convert it into the FIR.
The senior journalist of Uttarakhand Ajeet Rathi and even the Congress chief of Uttarakhand Ganesh Godiyal have identical views on this issue who catagorically say that legally and emotionally speaking the government should have asked the aggrieved parents of late Ankita Bhandari to lodge a fresh FIR or could have used the earlier letter written and personally presented to the CM.
But instead of that they preferred considering a fresh FIR of Anil Joshi , environmentalist.
The logic of these persons is if tomorrow the VIP is not found or the case is closed then would Anil Joshi take the pain to take another initiative to go to higher courts or file another petition. Or if suppose he gives up then the case will be closed for ever without any further result.
But had there been the aggrieved parents of Ankita Bhandari as the complainant instead of Anil Joshi who have been fighting this case tooth and nail since day one , they will by all means fight this case till they are alive relentlessly and will ensure that due justice is delivered to them in future. The pain of the traumatised parents losing their only innocent daughter couldn’t be equated with Anil Joshi as a complainant says Ashutosh Negi, Vice president of Uttarakhand Kranti Dal who fought this case since day one and is a real fighters to whom actually goes the credit for fructifying rhe demand for CBI probe .
It may be recalled that according to various media reports the previous man Swamy Darshan Bharti who accompanied Urmila Sanawar from Chandigarh to Delhi and also met the NSA in Delhi presenting several spiritual artefacts and Prasad brought from ancient Badrinath temple said that there is no VIP in the case this annoying the people of Uttarakhand earning the name of the broker of the powers that be.
