The Congress party chief and chairman of the Indian National Inclusive Developmental Alliance Mallikarjun Kharge while criticizing the prime minister for perpetuating the culture of Andhbhakti in the country said that the countrymen should know how he and the BJP leaders right from its president to all the candidates contesting the election as BJP candidates are branding him as an incarnation of the Lord and propagating that Lord Jagannath is his admirer etc. Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge was addressing a press conference today. Addressing the concluding part of his speech the veteran Congress leader said that bhakti in religion may be the salvation of the soul but bhakti in politics or Hero worship is a road to the degradation and eventual dictatorship. These words were expressed by the architect of Indian constitution Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar while addressing the constituent assembly in the last speech said Congress chief Mr. Kharge. He said unfortunately today the same trend of Andhbhakti and worship of a hero is being done leading to a new chapter of dictatorship said Mallikarjun Kharge. Kharge said today honourable prime minister is branding himself as the incarnation of the God and right from the president of the party to every contesting candidate are branding and worshipping him like the messenger of the Almighty. He said though everyone knows about this but he is saying so to let the countrymen know about this fact. Prime minister Narendra Modi has reached Kanyakumari today and has paid his floral tributes to the Lord and the monument of Swamy Vivekananda in full media glare. He will meditate here for forty eight hours. In 1991 prime minister Narendra Modi had visited here as a common BJP worker when the then party president and BJP stalwart Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi had commenced the Bharat Ekta Yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir to unfurl the national flag against terrorism, then on its peak.
In his social media handle X, earlier twitter, the Congress chief has posted : Modiji’s attempt to portray himself as God’s incarnation is not only childish and frivolous, but the public will give it a befitting reply. Baba Saheb Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar ji had said in his last speech in the Constituent Assembly – “Bhakti in religion may be a road to the salvation of the soul. But in politics, devotion or hero-worship is a sure road to degradation and to eventual dictatorship.” From the national president of BJP to other leaders, everyone calls the Prime Minister a god. This is only to promote blind devotion and blind faith.
