WHERE ARE THE FORTUNE MAKERS OF THE ELECTORATES OF UTTARAKHAND IN JOSHIMATH ECOLOGICAL DISASTER ?
SOUNDS ASTONISHING RATHER SHOCKING that after such a drastic ecological disaster in JOSHIMATH Uttarakhand we haven’t seen a single member of parliament of Uttarakhand including union minister visiting JOSHIMATH and extending their hand of support and cooperation when the sufferers of the prestigious township JOSHIMATH needing them the most to apply balm on their psycological wounds. I did heard about Pauri Garhwal MP visiting Joshimath though after a week or so but there wasn’t any feedback as to what really happened after his visit to provide solace to the Joshimath sufferers. There are 47 lawmakers of BJP and several of the Congress too, including their leaders making tall claims on issues that fetch them political advantage but in JOSHIMATH case they are conspicuous by their absence and if at all they have visited this sinking township which is a gateway to historic Badrinath temple, Auli skiing circuits, Hemkunt Sahib and valley of flowers they did nothing except levelling charges n counter charges against each other deriving political capital. The BJP chief Mahendra Bhatt who visited this township when CM Pushkar Singh Dhami visited he was met with the ire of the suffering residents. It seems that politicians are afraid of massive confrontation with the suffering residents of JOSHIMATH who they think may throw their ire on them and probably that’s the reason that there is dearth of politicians of national parties visiting this sinking township when the crying women, men n families including children need them the most. However, the Union Government and the state government is definitely on the job with people being evacuated and financial compensation of Rs. 1.5 lakh announced initially for the evacuees whose houses have been damaged due to wide cracks and displaced forthwith, though this seems to be too little an amount. Initially merely Rs 4000 was announced to each such family to hire accommodation at safer places which invited lot of annoyance and termed as ridiculous decision of the administration. This is indeed a very crucial time for the displaced residents of JOSHIMATH where more than nine hundreds houses have developed wide cracks, houses not feasible to live in, their future and socio economic life shattered not knowing where to go, and what to do. The women, men, youth, senior citizens n children are in acute agony in this minus degree temperature confronting the worst time of their life. We have five Lok Sabha n three Rajya Sabha members of parliament enjoying the luxury of life style in Delhi but unfortunately they all are conspicuous by their absence since the day, JOSHIMATH natural impasse started sinking JOSHIMATH and subsequently developing cracks in more than nine hundred houses. Sounds shocking and highly traumatic. Where are they ( elected people’s representatives) these days. Wouldn’t they visit JOSHIMATH, camp there, organise free food distribution, health camps with doctors to tender them free n required treatment and arrange delivery of relief funds from their capitalist friends, where are the Adanies and Ambanies including , That’s, Birlas and scores of other establishments. Where is CSR funds of these capitalists ? Sounds erroneous and irrational. Are we waiting for the worst to happen in JOSHIMATH so that we visit them to express our condolences and obituaries later on. Where are thousands of NGOs drawing government funds from public exchequer to come to the rescue of the real sufferers who had built their shelters in JOSHIMATH by lifting the cement, sand n mud on their own heads. Where are all these so called socio political architects of the country. We thank prime minister Sir Narendra Modi for taking note of this ecological disaster and putting all officers in action. The deputy secretary at PMO n district magistrate of Rudraprayag IAS Mangesh Ghildiyal has also rushed to disaster prone Joshimath to render his pivotal services and best of contribution. However, our question is – is it enough. Who else are visiting these sufferers to apply balm on their wounds and what financial package to their satisfaction have been provided to them is a moot question ? Will just Rs 1.5 lakhs though yet not distributed to all, only to few, provide succor to those who’d lost their houses n everything? What about their domestic pets and those suffering from critical illnesses and children n young ones whose academic career is at stake and on the verge of losing their private jobs and businesses ? Is there any solid, fool proof, genuine, transparent roadmap for the socio economic, health related, survival and housing package for these hundreds of sufferers who have lost their everything in JOSHIMATH for no fault of theirs. The people want the answers from the powers that be. We appeal to our public representatives to shower their affection and attention to these real sufferers of JOSHIMATH Uttarakhand as they have been elected with the sole wishes of the electorates to help them when they are are in real need as in JOSHIMATH, Garhwal, Uttarakhand.
Very well mentioned in view of unbiased reporting. I wish, if the elected MPs, MLAs, govt of India & the state govt, so called NGOs and corporate houses display honest actions to help the people, and save Uttarakhand from man mad calamitities / disasters.

Thank u for your transparent comments. The situation in Joshimath is a final earning signal as to what lies ahead in this Himalayan region as it lies in Zone 5 and we are very much expecting our leaders in the ruling party to visit Joshimath frequently to come to their rescue using their good offices with no personal hard feelings except that they are people’s elected representatives and it’s their primary duty to be in the midst of the traumatic populace at this odd hour helping them to the core. Thanks n regards. May the Almighty be with them at this most critical juncture.
