When elections approach near , the CBI remembers me, thank you says Harish Rawat
After receiving a CBI notice
Whenever the elections come near I get an opportunity to pay my obeisance to the CBI. Whenever, assembly elections are near , I am thankful to them that despite I becoming old and even having declared publicly that I am not more a political alternative in Uttarakhand, I am thankful that they remember me still a powerful politician and a challenge to them.
Therefore thank you. This was former chief minister of Uttarakhand and member CWC Harish Rawat who again received a CBI notice to be present in the month of September though he also requested that being an old man he won’t be able to join the investigations but would request to postpone the dates to October last week.
In a statement through a video released in social media in Hindi Harish Rawat said :
Today, after a long time, my friends at the #CBI remembered me again. This suggests that assembly elections are coming up again, and the #BJP friends, in whose hands the CBI has completely compromised its independence and autonomy, are in power.
They have deemed me worthy of election.
I’m saying that now, not me, but others will come forward. However, it seems those in the Indian government still believe that I can influence the election results, so I accept this notice “with thanks.”
But with this request that I am not in a position to travel anywhere till September, so if you give me some time in the second or third week of October, I will be happy so that I will appear at the CBI headquarters to record my statement or for whatever they are calling me for – said the former Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat in his video.
It may be recalled that the CBI had registered a case against Harish Rawat in 2016-17 when a sting operation regarding horse trading of MLAs were conducted on him at the Jollygrant airport by the then Chief of Samachar Plus need channel finally leading to he registration of this case in which Rawat is being issued notices what ch Rawat termed as a ploy to demoralise him but he will not be moved by these pressure tactics said Rawat earlier and now thanking the CBI fof remembering him always before the elections .
