The Congress party’s nationwide protest amd subsequent arrest campaign was marked by a massive demonstration of Youth Congress in Delhi and several states against the disqualification of their leader, former Congress chief and Waynaad MP Rahul Gandhi from the Lok Sabha membership after the Surat court convicted him for two years on the charge of using derogatory remarks against PM Modi and Modi surname asking why are Modi surname people thieves in a rally addressed bby him in 2019 in Karnataka. About hundred national leaders of Congress that included Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Congress chief Karge and several others including AICC members in a hectic meeting at party headquarters in New Delhi had taken a decision to register their tumultuous protest nationally on Monday against this decision.
As a sequel to various nationwide protest demonstration the Indian Youth Congress today organized a Parliament Gherao against the disqualification of their leader Rahul Gandhi’s Parliament membership and against the central government’s muting of democracy from the road to the Parliament. During this demonstration many senior leaders of the Congress party, Members of Parliament joined the gherao and addressed all the people present.

While addressing the protestors before courting arrests President of Indian Youth Congress Srinivas BV said that the dictatorship and mute-system of Modi government has weakened the foundation of democracy in the country. Youth Congress workers will continue to fight against this Modishahi and will win. No matter how many difficulties come, it cannot deter our spirits said furious IYC chief. Strongly condemning the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi Sriniwas said said that the termination of Rahul Gandhi ji’s membership of Parliament shows the fury of the Modi government adding that he has always been fighting for the protection of the Constitution and rights of the people, and will relentlessly continue to do in the future as well.
Accusing the ruling party of imposing dictatorial tendencies on leaders of the opposition Indian Youth Congress chief Srinivas BV said that there is an era of dictatorship in the country but people are well aware that our voice is being suppressed. Shri Rahul Gandhi ji is not fighting for himself but for the country and countrymen he said. He catagorically asked : Why is the whole central government, ministers and MPs are trying to save one man Adani. Thousands of crores are sticker in their shell companies but investigation are not being carried out , why? If Adani earns Rs 12 lakh crore in just two and a half years, then it is necessary to ask – where did this money came from? He questiined : Who gave this money?
Shri Rahul Gandhi is fighting for the people of this country, for the women, for the youth. He is fighting against unemployment and inflation and will continue to fight assured the IYC chief..
National Incharge of Indian Youth Congress and AICC Jt-Secretary Krishna Allavaru said that we are the soldiers of Congress Party and Shri Rahul Gandhi ji. He asked : What kind of democracy is this? Where there is no voice of the opposition in the Parliament, there is no freedom of speech for the media. Our leader Rahul Gandhi has announced to fight for democracy and he will not back down. After the revelation of ‘Modani’, Prime Minister Modi is neither answering nor getting the inquiry done, what is he afraid of? He asked ?Together we will fight against the dictatorship of this Modani which will drive this dictator government out of power said the Congress leader.
The Indian Youth Congress organized a huge public meeting at Jantar Mantar, after which all the workers of the Indian Youth Congress headed towards the Parliament under the leadership of the National President of the Youth Congress , Delhi Police did the barricading and then took all the Youth Congress workers into custody forcibly taking them to the Mandir Marg police station.
Today, all the National office bearers of the Indian Youth Congress, all the State Presidents, and many workers of the Indian Youth Congress were present in the program and courted arrests said the press release.
