Veteran Urdu Journalist Syed Aalim Naqvi is no more.

Veteran Urdu Journalist Syed Aalim Naqvi is no more. He breathed his last at LNJP Hospital, New Delhi in the early hours today. He was 75 at the time of his passing away. He is survived by his wife Fatema Naqvi and four children. His body was taken to his home city Lucknow wherein he was buried this evening at the ancient graveyard Ghufran M’ab Karbala, near Chawk Mandi. A large number of mainstream journos as well as political and social leaders were present among mourners on the occasion. Associated with most of the country’s well known Urdu dailies like Azayem and Awadhnama (Lucknow), Qaumi Awaaz and Inquilab (Delhi), and Urdu Times (Mumbai) in top ranks, he was a towering figure in Urdu media and was known for his bold, frank and secular views. He wrote a number of books also. He was a member of Bombay Press Club also. The Press Club of India has expressed its round grief and condolences on the sad demise of the veteran Urdu journalist Syed Alim Naqvi in a New Delhi hospital. The PCI in its condolence message on X wrote : The Press Club of India expresses profound grief and sorrow at the passing away of Veteran Urdu Journalist Syed Aalim Naqvi. May his soul rest in peace At this hour of grief, we stand in solidarity with his family & friends. #RIP
