Veteran sports journalist Kishore Naithani passes away ! RIP

Senior Sports journalist Kishore Naithani, originally from Jeharikhal, Lansdowne, breathed his last on 26 th September , the sad news revealed by the Yoga expert – Kailash Dhulia, formerly the editor, publisher of “Time Pass” magazine earlier published from Delhi.

The news about the sad demise of Kishore Naithani has send shock waves in sports journalism fraternity and among Uttrakhand circles of journalists and non journalists.

Veteran Sports journalist Kishore Naithani had been covering sports for more than four decades having written in almost all the Hindi national Dailies and regional media for years together with his last posting being in Political Observer newspaper stationed in Delhi. Self made, earlier Naithani served in Chouthi Duniya as incharge of sports section , in Dainik Hindustan and after Observer in Haribhumi. He has covered several national games and was a sports journalist of repute covering games for several years. He was suffering from problem in veins/ neuro with his legs not functioning due to the blockage in the veins.

He was admitted in RML hospital and prior to it in MAX for several days in ICU.

He breathed his last on 26 th September with last rights performed at holy town Haridwar on the banks of pious Ganges.

Several senior journalists viz Vipin Dhulia, Umakant Lakhera, Data Ram Chamoli, Rajendra Sajwan, Suresh Nautiyal, Kailash Dhulia, Vijay Shankar Chaturvedi, Sunil Negi , Rajendra Raturi, Kushal Jeena, Dev Singh Rawat, Amar Chand, Hari Singh Rawat etc expressed their deepest condolences and paid tributes to this pious soul praying to Almighty to render peace to the departed sole giving tremendous strength to his bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.

Naithani was 65. He left behind two daughters, a son and wife. Kishore Naithani was a gem of a person apart from being a renowned sports journalist.He was extremely affable and soft spoken and a down to earth human being with a mixing nature.
