Veteran journalist Zafar Agha is no more. He breathed his last today morning. According to the president of PCI Gautam Lahiri veteran journalist and our dear friend Zafar Agha 70, is no more(RIP). He passed away at 5.30 am this morning at Fortis, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. According to his elder brother Qamar Agha, he was suffering from severe Pneumonia and Chest infection. His body will be taken to Dargah Shah-e-Mardan, BK Dutt Colony, Jor Bagh, New Delhi PIN: 110003, for last rites at 2. pm and he will be buried at Hauz Rani Qabristan, Near Max Hospital Saket. The Press Club of India in a condolence message on social media platform X wrote : The Press Club of India expresses profound grief and sorrow at the passing away of veteran journalist and Group Editor of National Herald, Zafar Agha He had worked with several publications, including the Patriot, and India Today We stand in solidarity with the family & friends. It may be recalled that veteran Journalist Zafar Agha who was the editor in chief of National Heard was a senior member of PCI . He began his career as a journalist with the LINK magazine in 1979 and remained active in the profession for more than four and a half decades. During his journalistic journey of 45 years he worked with The Patriot, Business and Political Observer, India Today as Political Editor , ETV and Inquilab Daily. His final stint was with the National Herald Group as Editor Quami Awaz and National Herald. Other than his journalistic career he also served as member and later as officiating chairman of the National Commission of Minority Educational Institutions till 2017. He also taught journalism to students at Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan while working in Patriot. His passing away is indeed a huge loss to Journalist fraternity and the void left by him will be difficult to be filled. Tributes to the noble soul.
