CEO of Zee Media Corporation, holding “DNA” Programme daily – Sudhir Choudhary quits to start his own venture

The important pillar of Zee News, hosting his popular DNA ( Daily News and Analysis) programme carrying behind a vast following in lakhs, the CEO of Zee Media Corporation Ltd , senior journalist Sudhir Choudhary has quit after his protracted association with Zee News, surprising his fans n followers.

It is believed that Sudhir Choudhary is starting his own new venture taking advantage of his vast following who’d been regularly watching his popular daily analytical political programme titled DNA for the last several years.

Now, Rohit Ranjan of Zee News has taken his place hosting this daily political developments and analytical show DNA.

It is believed that the proprieter and chairman of Essel Group Subhash Chandra has tried his best to ensure that veteran journalist Sudhir Choudhary associated with Zee twice, finally since 2012 remains with the ZEE News channel but he refused his requests thanking him for having given him a long privilege for being in significant position in Zee as his mentor.

According to sources Mr. Subhash Chandra is hosting a party in Sudhir Choudhary’s honour in Constitution Club on 8 th July to accord him a pleasent farewell.

Sudhir Chowdhary has not been hosting his DNA programme for the last three days and now Rohit Ranjan of Zee News has taken his place. He was considered to be favouring the saffron party n toeing the ruling political dispensation policies n programmes. The channel was considered just opposite of NDTV.

The Zee management is believed to have brought young new team in the system, preferable in low salaries which may be one of the reasons for Sudhir Choudhary’s exit from Zee including the dwindling financial condition of the company.

A veteran journalist Choudhary worked in Zee from 2003 onwards but had left it to join Sahara Samay. He finally joined Zee in 2012 again and was with Zee since then till now.

A popular veteran TV journalist Sudhir Choudhary’s DNA programme has tremendous viewership and on his quitting ZEE News there have been lot of comments by his viewers addicted to his programme. It is believed that after his leaving ZEE News the channel’s viewership will be highly affected with viewers shifting to other news channels.

Kindly recall that ZEE TV news is allegedly considered to be a news channel inclined towards the ruling party to an extent.

Broadcast news Zee Media Corporation Ltd on 1st July revealed that veteran journalist Sudhir Choudhary has resigned as the CEO of the company and Abhay Ojha has taken over from him as the new CEO from July 2nd.

According to the CNBC, the company has suffered a consolidated loss of Rs. 51.45 crores in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2022 which is running 14 news channels in six languages.

In 2012 Sudhir Choudhary and his associate Saneer Ahluwalia were reportedly sent to 14 days judicial custody while Congress was in government on the alleged accusations of Navin Jindal , industrialist that the two came to interview him and allegedly demanded a huge sum against blackmail, saying that the sting operation done by them will be aired on Zee TV. There was lot of controversy on this issue then, the case finally closed. Industrialist Jindal had released the tape in media about alleged blackmail then creating tremendous controversy. Navin Jindal who’d been expelled from the BJP along with Nupur Sharma for their highly objectionable communal n derogatory statement had also worked in Zee news and was the Delhi BJP media, head.
