Uttarakhand’s Women n Child Welfare minister Rekha Arya with her selfie pic from Max hospital writes, her operation has been successful. Even Minister has no faith in their hospitals, coming to Delhi for treatment
The Women Empowerment and Child development minister of Uttarakhand Rekha Arya was today operated successfully in a super speciality Max hospital in New Delhi. In a tweet the second time minister in Uttarakhand government under BJP rule Rekha Arya had defected from Congress in 2016 n joined the saffron party along with other MLAs destabilising the then Congress government led by Harish Rawat.
Forty three years old minister of women empowerment and child development Rekha Arya has in a social media post with her selfie picture from her hospital bed stated that my operation has been successful in Max hospital with the blessings of Baba Shri Bankhandinath, the people of Someshwar, Uttarakhand, well wishers and relatives.
Many many thanks to all. I will be serving with full dedication all after joining office post recovery wrote Rekha Arya in her FB post.
However, she hasn’t mentioned about surgery specifically as to which portion of her body was operated upon due to an ailment. There are news reports about the hollow assurances of the state government led by BJP claiming its health services and hospitals fully equipped with adequate facilities and medical equipments and treatment capabilities.
The admission and subsequent treatment ( surgery) of a cabinet minister in a super speciality high profile private hospital of Delhi unambiguously speaks of the fact that even the top notch politicians and the ministers of the ruling party have no faith in the health arrangements and medical care of their state, which is not only shameful but highly worrisome.
What is surprising, astonishing and anguishing to note is – that Dehradun, the state capital has several government and super speciality hospitals, but the ministers, bureaucrats and even chief ministers have no faith and confidence in them.
During Covid 19 challenging times the then CM Trivendra Singh Rawat and former CM Harish Rawat when infected with the dreaded pandemic were airlifted to Delhi AIIMS for treatment despite the very fact that there is AIIMS at Rishikesh and government hospital in Dehradoon. Similarly, the then leader of the opposition Dr. Indira Hridayesh was airlifted in Ambulance from Haldwani, despite a government hospital there who refused to be admitted in a super speciality hospital, finally admitted in a hospital in Delhi.
Similarly when the legendary singer Narendra Singh Negi suffered a cardiac arrest in an interior village area, he was rushed to Dehradun from where he was advised by the then CM Trivendra Singh Rawat to be admitted in a private hospital where he was operated upon n cured after several days.
In Uttarakhand the condition in government hospitals including at AIIMS Rishikesh is quite worrisome with patients not being treated adequately and medical equipments not working including shortages of ambulances, ultrasound, X Ray machines and even lack of medicines with lethargic staff.
The district hospitals are in bad shape with doctors and paramedics missing including shortage of doctors, surgeons and even paramedics.
There have been umpteen instances of patients and pregnant women delivering babies on way or dying for want of treatment or negligence or late treatment etc.
This is despite the hard fact that the government claims of allocating maximum budget to health sector of the state.
