Uttarakhand Rakha Morcha demands regularisation of services of group C, D employees n those discharged at AIIMS, Rishikesh
The president of Uttarakhand Raksha Morcha, a regional political party of Uttarakhand Dr. V. K. Bahuguna has appealed to prime minister Narendra Modi to regularise the services of C and D categories of the employees who had served in Rishikesh AIIMS from three to five years including reappoint those whose services have been discharged after serving for several years on contractual basis having been fully trained as immense resentment is brewing up amongst them for injustice being meted out despite their laborious, services of several years. In a letter sent to prime minister Narendra Modi, Dr Vinod Kumar Bahuguna said that a serious resentment is brewing up at AIIMS Rishikesh among the contractual employees who were recruited and later on replaced by the regular recruits. The competition for all the posts in Central government institutions is held at All India level even for groups D and C posts which results in local unemployed youth not able to compete at the All India level wrote Dr. Bahuguna. As a result most of the youths who were engaged on contractual jobs for more than 3 to 5 years fail to get into the merit though they are now fully trained in their respective jobs as the skill of group C and D catagories require more hands on training and learning than the theoretical examinations based on general knowledge etc added Dr. Bahuguna, chief of Uttarakhand Rakha Morcha, a retired IFS n principal secretary cum advisor to the government of Tripura.
Emphasising on recruiting these C and D employees having already worked on contractual jobs for more than 3 to 5 years Dr. Bahuguna said the government need to revisit it’s recruitment policies and reserve at least eighty percent seats for group D and 50% seats for group C posts with special skill including setting up of a special examination for already served employees on contractual basis in group C n D catagory employing them on permanent basis, based on their records. Dr. Bahuguna also demanded regularisation of services of all the employees discharged arbitrarily who had served at AIIMS for several years. He appealed the prime minister to also rid the AIIMS Rishikesh of agitations and unnecessary intervention of politics in the functioning of the institution. It may be recalled that few weeks ago the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal had protested against the mismanagement and arbitrary recruitments of group C n D employees by outsiders with Uttarakhand’s recruits being sidelined allegedly accusing the present management of rampant corruption n inefficiencies etc.
