Uttarakhand Kranti Dal protests outside Rani Pokhri police station demanding stringent punishment to the four culprits for killing a newly wedded bride for Dowry
Uttarakhand has seldom witnessed obnoxious cases of diabolical murders of newly married women by their husbands and in laws for dowry demands. But unfortunately such obnoxious incidents have now started occuring in this land of God’s known as Devbhoomi.
A shameful incident of an abominable murder of a newly wedded bride namely Arti daughter of Vijendra Singh at Chak Sidhwal village in Doiwala under the jurisdiction of Dehradun district took place on 12 th December 2022 committed by none other than her husband Pawan Rawat of Bhogpur village and her greedy in laws who demanded dowry from her parents torturing her finally killing the beautiful bride for want of dowry.
The cruel husband Pawan Rawat and his parents started torturing the bride from day one of the marriage finally killing her with scars found under her ear, throat and other body parts of internal injuries n wounds. The husband of the deceased, his younger brother and parents were demanding lakhs of rupees to send the deceased’s DEWAR to foreign country for job etc. said the news reports.
According to news reports the husband of the deceased when interrogated changed his statements finally accepting having murdered the newly wedded bride for dowry demand after the indepth police interrogation along with the girls in laws. The Rani Pokhri police station incharge Shishu Pal Rana registered the case of murder against the four culprits arresting them forth with. There is immense shock and panic around with Uttarakhand Kranti Dal activists staging a demonstration outside the Rani Pokhri Police station led by Shiv Prasad Semwal, journalist turned political leader of Uttarakhand Kranti Dal, also a contestant from Doiwala legislative constituency. Raising slogans for free and fair impartial trial and stringent punishment to the culprits of this diabolical murder of a newly wedded bride, UKD activists gheraoed the police station.
The Incharge of Rani Pokhri Police station who was also served the memorandum by slogan shouting UKD protestors assured them of taking stringent legal punitive measures against the culprits at the earlier through speedy court proceedings. They also demanded arrest of the Mausa and mother of the murderer husband who are still absconding apart from stringent legal punitive action against the culprits.
The culprit husband n his younger brother had already been arrested under various acts of Dowry n murder etc. The protestors also demanded viscera report of the post mortem and arrest of the absconders failing which they will be compelled to resort to direct action, the responsibilty of which would be of the police administration said UKD leader Shiv Prasad Semwal.
Prominent among those who participated in the protest demonstration were Sumit Singhwal, Amit Kukreti, Rupesh Sindhwal, Ashok Tiwari, Atul Rawat, Naresh Rawat, Sagar Deepak and the local villagers.
