Uttarakhand has been achieved for our unity not division. Let’s become Uttarakhandi than Garhwali and Kumaoni : AJAY BHATT, STATE DEFENCE MINISTER
Uttarakhandies living in Delhi and elsewhere should talk about Uttarakhand, not about Garhwal and Kumaon separately or individually. We’ve made Uttarakhand for our unity not to divide ourselves. I usually avoid going to the functions organised by communities who pronounce themselves as Garhwali, Kumaoni or Jaunsari founding organisations in the name of Garhwali, Kumaoni or Jaunsari Sansthas than Uttarakhandi organisation. He lauded Uttarakhand Sanskritik Manch for not talking of Garhwali, Kumaoni or Jaunsari separately but naming their organisation after Uttarakhand, a cumulative unified gesture said Ajay Bhatt, minister.
He urged the inhabitants of Uttarakhand in Delhi and elsewhere to propagate unity of our people as a single entity being Uttarakhandi especially than disintegrating the cultural heritage of Kumaon, Garhwal and Jaunsari talking of Uttarakhand as separate entities.
The Union Minister of state for, Defence Ajay Bhatt was addressing a mammoth gathering of Uttarakhandies in Nanakpura, a South Delhi Colony in a function organised by Uttarakhand, Sanskritik Manch.
Lauding the traditional colorful attire, folk songs n dances, our ancient musical instruments, deities and traditions state defence minister Ajay Bhatt said that these are our value keepers instilling in us our ethics, promoting our cultural heritage that are centuries old.
He said whether we are in Uttarakhand, Delhi or any part of the world our ancient cultural heritage keeps us all together into one fold and therefore we should instead of talking of our separate community existence come together on one platform as Uttarakhandies than as Kumaoni or Garhwali. He asked if we talk of our individual existence as Garhwalies, Kumaonies and Jaunsaries that what’s the use of achieving Uttarakhand as separate entity after so much of relentless struggle. Lauding the legendary folk singers of Uttarakhand’s Garhwal and, Kumaon region Narendra Singh Negi and Gopal Babu Goswami, state minister for Defence, Ajay Bhatt said that these iconic personalities have raised the name n prestige of Uttarakhand at the global level for which entire himalayan state is indebted to them.
Acknowledging cheers and clappings from the enthusiastic crowd state defence minister Ajay Bhatt was felicitated with garlands and shawl.
Others felicitated on these occasions were Sunil Negi, president, Uttarakhand Journalists Forum, renowned entrepreneur of Uttarakhand n social activist and leader Narendra Ladwal, Mr. P. C. Nainwal, Brigadier Chamoli, Ganesh Rautela, organiser and others.
In the second session the former lawmaker of R. K. Puram Anil Sharma, present councillor Dharam Vir n former councillor Anil Mullick etc were also felicitated.
The renowned Uttarakhandi Singer Bishan Hariyala n Kuldeep Patwal etc by their enthralling melodious songs induced women and men of Uttarakhand n non Uttarakhandies dancing to the impressive musical tunes and audience enjoying the musical evening till the last glued to their seats.
The event was jointly organised by Shri Ashok Dhaundiyal, Girish Chandra Brijwasi, J. P. Baluni and, R. S. Chauhan all office bearers of Uttarakhand Sanskritik Manch.
The cultural songs, dances and music were presented by Bavan Garh Sanskritik Kala Manch and ably anchored by renowned Uttarakhandi actress and anchor Manju Bahuguna.
