Uttarakhand governor gives consent to the bill granting 10% horizontal reservation in jobs to the Uttarakhand activists and their family members !
The Uttarakhand government has taken a very important decision favouring the Uttarakhand movement activists and their next of the kin. It has declared ten percent horizontal reservation in government jobs for Uttarakhand activists recognised by the government and their family members which has been a long pending demand.
The governor of Uttarakhand Lt General ( Retired) Gurmit Singh has given his written consent to the legislation passed in the assembly in this regard making those fighting for this demand since long happy to the core.
This decision of the Uttarakhand government will benefit more than 11 thousand movement activists n their kins in the state who have been recognised as Andolankaries by various governments.
There had been several protests in the state in this regard and the ruling party has in the month of February tabled the bill in the assembly to accord reservation in government jobs to Uttarakhand Andolankaries and their family members which was objected by some legislators for making some amends sending the legislation to the select committee for certain amends, by the speaker.
Today the Governor of Uttarakhand Lt.General ( Retd) Gurmeet Singh gave his written consent officially implementing it in the state.
The Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami thanked the governor for granting his consent to this legislation becoming a law and reiterated that the Uttarakhand government is fully committed to give all facilities to the Uttarakhand movement activists recognising their relentless struggle and sacrifices.
