Uttarakhand government’s first SUNDERLAL BAHUGUNA NATURE AND ENVIRONMENT AWARD given to prominent environmentalist Vijay Jardari, Congrats

On the occasion of the World Environment Day on 5 June 2025, prominent activist of the Henwal Valley in Tehri Garhwal, was felicitated with the first Sunderlal Bahuguna Nature and Environment Award for his exemplary work in the social and environmental fields.

He played a catalytic role in promoting the Save the Seeds Movement (Beej Bachao Andolan) in Uttarakhand, and continues to preserve and conserve dozens of the almost extinct varieties of the mountain seeds including that of paddy, lintel, vegetable, etc.

The Award has been instituted by the Government of Uttarakhand.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami presented the Award to Mr Jardhari.

Several social and environmental organisations in the state and beyond have congratulated Mr Jardhari for this achievement.
