Uttarakhand Ekta Manch holds meeting in Meerut to mobilise people in favour of Inclusion of Ukhand under 5 th Schedule of the Constitution
The Uttarakhand Ekta Manch is holding several back to back meetings in Uttarakhand, Delhi, NCR and in UP mobilising people of Uttarakhand living in metropolises and the national capital including at Chandigarh. The UEM held meeting in the recent past in Haldwani, Meerut, Delhi, Chandigarh and Dehradun with good presence of intellectuals too apart from the commoners and local journalists. The Uttarakhand Ekta Manch is demanding the hill state to be included in the 5 th Schedule of the constitution to enable it get the Tribal Status and therefore redressal of all the general demands related to the jal, jungle, jameen including employment generation for the locals and spontaneous implementation of concrete land act to desist outsiders from buying land in Uttarakhand in future. Today the Uttarakhand Ekta Manch held a meeting in Meerut mobilising people join this movement and back their demand to include Uttarakhand in the fifth schedule of Uttarakhand attended by good number of Uttarakhandies living there. Nishant Rauthan and Anoop Bisht the force behind this intiative addressed and convinced the audience to participate in the 2 nd October meeting at Jantar Mantar alongwith the leader of Ladakh Sonam Wangchuk who is converging there with his demand for inclusion of Ladakh in the sixth schedule of the constitution. The Uttarakhand Ekta Manch is welcoming and expressing solidarity with Sonam Wangchuk on 2 nd October at Jantar Mantar urging Uttarakhandies living in Delhi and elsewhere to join them to support its noble cause and that of Sonam Wangchuk. The Cordinator of UEM at Chandigarh Mr.Sundli and his team had welcomed Sonum Wangchuk at Chandigarh the other day when he visited there while enroute to Delhi covering one thousand kilometres from Ladakh to Jantar Mantar.
