Uttarakhand Congress leaders summoned to Delhi. Meeting convened by Kumari Shelja

The Uttarakhand Congress seems to be going for an overhaul in the near future and the party high command is serious about reviving the organisation from the grass roots to the top. There are rumours that the top leadership is in a mood to change the incumbent president but is not able to get a suitable alternative. The faction ridden party in Uttarakhand despite several warnings by the top leadership seems to be in no mood to rejuvenate itself as a result of which the chief observer and Incharge of Uttarakhand Congress , former union minister Kumari Shailja has convened a meeting of top party leaders of Uttarakhand in Delhi to deliberate with them and give them important directions to not only United the party forgetting their narrow political differences but also to rejuvenate the Congress party at the decentralised level. This is big the first time that Kumari Shailja has convened the meeting of the leaders of Uttarakhand. She had called it several months before as well in Delhi unambiguously directing all the factions to forget their differences cohesively strength the party forgetting all the previous differences especially because the 2027 assembly elections are round the corner. This significant meeting was yesterday convened by Kumari Shelja at the Indira Gandhi Bhawan in New Delhi in which the CEC member Gurdeep Sappal and state observer Surendra Sharma were present. When asked to throw light on the achievements and drawbacks of the state Congress committee the state chief Karan Mahara threw light in the achievements of the state Congress in terms of its performance on various important issues of the state. During the meeting the chief observer and Incharge of Uttarakhand Congress Kumari Shelja has instructed the partymen to strengthen the Congress in the state and also to save the party from increasing factionalism and lead it towards more answerable to the people by relentlessly struggling in support of the people’s demands. The state Congress Chief observer and Incharge Kumari Shelja directed the participants to strengthen the party at the grass roots levels and organise the training and awareness campaigns at the block, panchayat and district levels. She also directed the leaders to keep a struct eye on the voters list during the civic and Panchayat elections st the decentralised levels. She also said that on Tuesday 4 th March the CWC member Gurdeep Singh Sappal and Surendra Sharma will hold the meetings with the district and City chiefs of Congress and thereafter the opposition leader and senior leader of Uttarakhand Congress will hold a press conference to acquaint the media about party’s programme name Congress Kutumbkam and other campaigns in the near future. Those present in these meetings were the veteran Congress leader Harish Rawat, state chief Karan Mahara, former minister Dr.Harak Singh Rawat against whom several ED cases are registered, Bhuvan Kapri, MLA who had earlier defeated Uttarakhand CM, former leader of the opposition UK Pritam Singh, formed state party chief Ganesh Godiyal and others
