Uttarakhand Congress chief Mahara, senior leaders and 19 MLAs summoned by Congress top leadership, asked to maintain discipline, give up factionalism and strengthen party organisation up to grass roots levels

The central party high command of Congress party today summoned the state party chief Karan Mahara, the leader of the opposition in Uttarakhand assembly Yashpal Arya, the former leader of the opposition and former state chief Pritam Singh , several other important state leaders and nineteen Congress MLAs at the central party headquarter 24 Akbar Road addressed by the Uttarakhand chief incharge , former union minister Kumari Shelja and Mr. Gurdeep Singh Sappal , member CWC etc. The senior Congress leader Kumari Shelja has summoned the Uttarakhand Congress leaders to Delhi with the sole objective to revitalise the party organisation from state to block level, give up factionalism in the party, establishing connect between the legislators and the organisation including strictly following party discipline.

The meeting was convened in the war room of AICC.

The central leaders emphatically said that the BJP government representing fascism has to be brought to task on various important burning issues of the state but this could be possible only if the entire party comes on the road and struggles relentlessly roping in the general masses into its fold.

The Uttarakhand state Congress incharge Kumari Shailja while addressing the Congress leaders and MLAs said that the nation is today confronting tremendous serious political challenges as the BJP government want to crush the democracy and democratic institutions in the country.

You must have witnessed that the central government has not given a single rupee to counter or cope with the ecological challenges being confronted by the people of the Himalayan state said Shailja.

Today The entire state and its people are facing severe ecological disasters, landslides leading to massive destruction. Not a single central leader had visited the calamity hit state nor has assessed the quantam of losses the state has suffered in terms of loss of human lives and collosal loss of properties , houses and even some of the villages being wiped out completely said Kumari Shelja.

The Dhami government has not even assessed the quantam of massive damage and destruction which is quite unfortunate said the Uttarakhand Congress incharge Kumari Shailja.

She also congratulated the chief of the Uttarakhand Congress Karan Mahara and party organisation for defeating the BJP in two assembly byelections in Mangalore and Badrinath recently and said that this victory has raised the prestige and name of the Congress party not only in the state but also at ge pan India level.

She specifically congratulated the state Congress chief Karan Mahara and his team for these victories and hoped that they will work hard with more zeal and enthusiasm in the Kedarnath by-election and the panchayat and local elections in the state too.

She urged all the office bearers, MLAs and the state leaders to forget their personnel differences and give up the factionalism in order to unitedly confront the BJP in the near future under the leadership of the central party high command strengthening the hands of national party chief Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha.

The senior Congress leader Shailja said that the party organisation and its workers will have to come on the streets to expose the fascist tendencies of the BJP but this could become effective and possible only if the leaders give up their differences and unite without any futile ego.

The CWC member Gurdeep Singh Sappal while addressing the Uttarakhand Congress office bearers and legislators in the War Room said that all the leaders, workers , rank n file should come together and unitedly fight and expose these fascist forces who speak lies on every count even in parliament without respecting it said Sappal adding that the BJP leaders are issuing false and fabricated statements to misguide the countrymen.

He said our dynamic leader Rahul Gandhi has exposed the BJP government’s lies, rhetorics and wrong policies in parliament as a result of which they have misused the CBI, ED and IT against them and started putting opposition leaders in jail. The Congress leaders and workers will come on the roads to confront and counter their illegal designs said CWC member Sappal.

The state Congress chief Karan Mahara has acquainted the central leadership of the Uttarakhand Congress party’s various programmes and protest Yatras particularly the 280 kilometres long Kedarnath protest Yatra and the large response it has received on the way by the electorates.

He also assured the leadership that the state Congress party organisation will leave no stone unturned to ensure that it will take on the ruling party government on various pivotal issues not only by strongly opposing the anti people policies of the ruling BJP government but will also expose it in various fronts exposing the prevailing corruption and its inept handling of state and pro people centric matters.

The leader of the opposition Yashpal Arya also assured Kumari Shailja and Mr. Sappal that the party MLAs will strongly oppose the government on various burning issues inside the assembly and will not let them function thus exposing their ill conceived notions on various fronts.

Former Leader of Opposition Pritam Singh, Deputy Leader of Opposition Bhuwan Kapri, and MLAs Tilak Raj Behad, Manoj Tiwari, Mayukh Mahar, Vikram Singh Negi, Madan Singh Bisht, Mamta Rakesh, Sumit Hridayesh, Furkan Ahmed, Anupam Rawat, Lakhpat Butola, Qazi Nizamuddin, Virendra Jati, Kushal Singh Adhikari, Gopal Singh Rana, Adesh Chauhan, Ravi Bahadur were specially present in the meeting. However the Congress MLA Dhami could attend the meeting dur to some personal reasons n unavoidable situation.
