Uttarakhand CM wins by 55000 votes. PM congratulates!
Having lost to his immediate rival 40 years old Bhuban Kapri in the assembly election from Khatima earlier by 6,567 votes, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has finally avenged his earlier defeat from another constituency Champawat winning but over 55000 votes. This, seat was vacated by the sitting BJP lawmaker Gehtodi. After becoming the chief minister of Uttarakhand for the second time despite losing from Khatima, with BJP winning on 47 assembly seats, it was the constitutional requirement to win as MLA within six months. After this victory, the prime minister Narendra Modi was the first to congratulate Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami. In a tweet prime minister Narendra Modi while congratulating him wrote : Congratulations to Uttarakhand’s dynamic CM Pushkar Singh Dhami for a record win from CHAMPAWAT.
I am confident, he will win even harder for the progress of Uttarakhand. I thank the people of Champawat for placing their faith in BJP and laud our karyakartas for their hard work tweeted prime minister Modi. Kindly recall that the Congress party has deputed all his leaders at Champawat and former Congress CM Harish Rawat , Rajya Sabha MP Harish Rawat, CLP leader Yashpal Arya, Karan Mahara, state Congress chief were all busy here to ensure strong fight to Pushkar Singh Dhami. But his defeat with 55000 votes have unambiguously reflected the voters mood in favour of the saffron party with Congress party looking doomed. During campaigning Harish Rawat was seen in social media with Kafal busy getting his photo clicked and sitting on Dharna fir potholes on roads, which didn’t clicked politically with Congress woman candidate being far behind.
