Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Rawat to meet PM and HM. Met Nadda for an hour in Delhi after meeting Anil Baluni.
The Uttarakhand chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat who is in Delhi after being summoned by Congress high command in view of the political upheaval in the hilly state today met the BJP chief J.P. Nadda after waiting for several hours. The chief minister was closetted with the national party chief for an hour or so said the reliable sources. What transpired between both the leaders have not been disclosed to the media. Trivendra Singh Rawat was also expected to meet the prime minister Narendra Modi and the union home minister Amit Shah midnight to explain his position after the central party observers BJP vice president Raman Singh and Uttrakhand in-charge national BJP general secretary n Rajya Sabha MP Dushyant Gautam submitted their report to them and party chief JP Nadda.
The parliamentary party is also to meet on Tuesday probably to give its decision on the report whether to change the Uttarakhand CM or to give him a green signal to continue further. However, the chief minister has also met the Rajya Sabha MP Anil Baluni at his Lodhi Estate bungalow which was earlier occupied by Priyanka Gandhi for several years. As per the latest tentative news reports Rajya Sabha MP Anil Baluni is also being considered as the next CM in case Trivendra Singh Rawat is removed as the present CM. The other contenders in the race are union minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Satpal Maharaj and Dhan Singh, both Uttarakhand state ministers. Mr Ajay Bhatt’s name has now been diluted from the list. In the evening the union home minister Amit Shah and party chief JP Nadda had met the general secretary in-charge of Uttarakhand BJP Dushyant Gautam at the parliament house office of Mr. Shah in which the party general secretary B.L. Santosh was also present.
It is believed that Dushyant Gautam had explained the detailed position of the rebel MLAs n ministers of Uttarakhand who are hell bent upon demanding replacement of the present CM Trivendra Singh Rawat accusing him for patronising the state’s bureaucrats who never hear to them, making them effectless and of no relevance. There have been number of complaints of rebel lawmakers and some ministers in the recent past against the chief minister for not paying them any heed, even going to the extent of resigning. They had also rushed to Delhi few months ago complaining against him but we’re pacified by the high command. It may be recalled that the chief minister had rushed to Delhi on Monday cutting short his Chamoli visit after he was summoned by the party high command. Various media reports have speculated that he may go and a new chief minister is likely to be announced shortly with union minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, RS MP Anil Baluni and Satpal Maharaj being serious contenders. The chief minister has also met a saint in Malviya Nagar yesterday evening n deliberated with him separately before meeting the RS MP Anil Baluni. Meanwhile Uttarakhand’s chief minister’s position seems to be in jeopardy with rumours floating in media that his exit is imminent. The way all the MLAs of BJP including the chief minister were summoned on Saturday to Dehradun from Gairsain, cutting short the Assembly’s budget session and the core committee meeting convened by the two central party observers, the media predicted Trivendra Singh Rawat’s removal for sure, though till date nothing credible has been announced except the CM rushing to Delhi and meeting Anil Baluni and party chief JP Nadda separately for over an hour. There are not reports of his meeting with the prime minister and the union home minister till the time of furnishing this story. It may be recalled that the Uttarakhand assembly elections are due for 2022 and keeping in view the tarnishing image of BJP in the hilly state with earlier surveys portraying him as the worst CM with chances of BJP looking dull in the ensuing assembly elections, the BJP high command is in no mood to continue him any further as CM, UK say majority of the political analysts.
