UTTARAKHAND CM THANKS FINANCE MINISTER DR. SITARAMAN FOR ASSURING THE PACKAGE OF RS 1774 CRORES FOR SAUNG DAM TO CATER DRINKING WATER DEMAND OF TEN LAKH PEOPLE
The chief minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami who is in Delhi for the last two days had met prime minister Narendra Modi yesterday and presented him a year’s performance report about his government and also presented bouquets and a shawl. The PM seemed happy while meeting him, meaning all is well in terms of Pushkar Singh Dhami’s performance report as the state CM despite so much of scams happening during his tenure including Ankita Bhandari dreaded murder case that shook the state government’s foundation with social and print as well as electronic media filled with news of immense concern. The UKSSSC scam in which some of his own party’s leaders were involved had also brought bad name to the party. Meanwhile, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today met the Union finance minister and demanded a package of Rs 1774 for the Saung Dam Water Project of Uttarakhand which will be instrumental in fulfilling the drinking water demands of about ten lakh population of the hilly state. According to the tweet of chief minister Uttarakhand : Met the Union finance minister Dr. Nirmala Sitaraman in New Delhi and requested for a financial package of Rs. 1774 crores for Saung Dam Drinking Water project. This proposed project is of Rs. 2021 crores and a population of ten lakhs would be benefited by the drinking water facilities. It may be recalled that the Dam named after River Saung is a first Dehradun gravity Dam being built over 138. 122 hectares at the foothills of Mussoorie expected to relieve Dehradun of its chronic water shortage during summers and catering to the population of ten lacs of and near Dehradun after the completion of this project.
