The shameful incident of thrashing of a person by a cabinet minister along with his security personnel in broad day light and the video going viral in social media bringing bad name to BJP and the ruling party government in Uttarakhand has today once again created an unwarranted problem for the saffron party which is struggling hard in Karnataka to stage a re comeback though the main opposition Congress party and JD (S) of former PM Devegowda are claiming to be the political alternatives by all means.
Such shabby incidents as happened in Uttarakhand at Rishikesh today involving a cabinet minister slapping or punching two persons, one a local resident of Rishikesh namely Surendra Singh Negi, whom the minister accused as a blackmailer has indeed put a big question mark on the credibility of political leaders and ministers of Uttarakhand.
Meanwhile taking strong cognisance of this shabby and shameful incident the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had to confront volley of questions from desperate media asking him as to what action would he take in this serious matter that has brought bad name to the saffron party and opposition Congress party.
According to the latest news, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami who is in Delhi having met the PM and several important political dignitaries – has after taking due cognisance of this serious matter not only asked the DGP Uttarakhand to investigate the whole episode personally but has also summoned the finance minister Aggrawal meet him at Dehradun on Wednesday.
Assuring of taking strong and expeditious action against the guilty, the chief minister said that the innocent would not be targeted nor will the guilty be spared.
While directing the DGP, Uttarakhand Mr. Ashok Kumar to initiate an impartial expeditious probe in this matter the chief minister said that partiality and discriminative action will not be tolerated and the guilty will surely be penalized.
Kindly recall that on Tuesday the minister of Finance Prem Chand Aggrawal was heading for a programme at Parmarth Niketan, Haridwar. On the way there was traffic jam and an argument ensued with two persons, one Surendra Singh Negi from Rishikesh.
As the argument ensued the security personnel of the minister started thrashing the two men with one picking a stone to hit the policemen. As the fight continued the minister along with the security personnel started repeatedly thrashing one Surendra Singh Negi, later on joined by a man in yellow shirt clearly visible in the video, who also thrashed Negi.
The minister accused Surendra Negi as a blackmailer having attacked on him and also tearing his kurta and pockets of the uniform of security personnel.
While the fight was in progress some people standing at the spot made a video and posted it in social media making it terribly viral, putting the ruling BJP in a state of tizzy.
No muscle power dominance is required in the divine land of Uttrakhand.
