Uttarakhand CM honours legendary singer and poet Narendra Singh Negi on his 75 th B’day and releases a book on 12 brave hearts of UK
The chief minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami today honoured and congratulated the legendary Uttarakhand singer Narendra Singh Negi, renowned as Garhratn and prestigious Sahitya Academi Award winner at the Dehradun CM’s Camp office. The chief minister also released the book titled ” Hamaare Lok Nayak”, on this occasion. The book contains the descriptive account of twelve ” Stalwarts” Lok Nayaks from thirteenth century to 1962, primarily the brave warriors of repute including the outstanding dare devils of Indian Army. The book has been edited by prominent author and journalist Ganesh Khushal Gani. The chief minister has wished Negi a long life congratulating him on his 75 th Birthday calling him a melodious and mesmerising voice enchanting one and all, globally. Calling Uttarakhand – the land of the courageous and brave people, the chief minister lauded the book saying that it will inspire our young generation to be brave and patriotic bringing name, fame and laurels for the state and the country. He lauded legendary singer Narendra Singh Negi for entertaining the society as a whole by his meaningful and mesmerising songs and promoting and preserving our heritage and culture globally. He said that Negi has not only promoted and preserved our culture, heritage and traditions including folk lore but has also spread the Garhwali, Kumaoni and Jaunsari dialects and culture across the spectrum globally. The book has been written in Garhwali dialect and has not only highlighted our magnificent cultural history and traditions but has also highlighted the bravery acts of twelve historical warriors of Uttarakhand including the outstanding patriotic brave hearts of Indian Army. The book carries the details profiles and happenings of brave and relentless struggle oriented journey of the following stalwarts viz : warriors Kaffu Chauhan, Madho Singh Bhandari, lodhi Rikhola, Till Rauteli, Jitu Bagadwal, Panthya Daada, first Victoria Cross winner Gabbar Singh Negi, hero of Peshavar mutiny Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali, Shaheed Shridev Suman, freedom fighter and revolutionary who died after being on 84 days hunger strike against the then Rajshahi, 1962 Nuranang war hero Jaswant Singh Rawat, who single handedly killed 300 enemy a Chinese soldiers n officers of PLA at the mere age of 23 finally killing himself on his temple by his pistol etc .
