Uttarakhand CM had a hectic day on Tuesday meeting PM, HM, Defence minister and J. P. Nadda. Seeks financial horticulture package of Rs. 2000 crores
The Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had an extremely busy schedule on Tuesday, meeting the top leaders n union ministers especially prime minister Narendra Modi seeking various financial packages for the hilly state, including meeting the national party chief Jai Prakash Nadda, thanking him for the party’s historic success in Uttarakhand.
He reached Delhi on Monday evening and met prime minister Narendra Modi, union home minister Amit Shah, union defence minister Rajnath Singh, party’s chief observer n incharge of Uttarakhand, union minister Prahalad Joshi, Rajya, Sabha MP n BJP national media incharge Anil Baluni, Almora MP n former minister Ajay Tamta, Tirath Singh Rawat, union state minister Ajay Bhatt etc.
He also met the former Uttarakhand CM and fmr union education minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank presenting momentos to all including prime minister Narendra Modi.
He discussed various projects for the state’s development and sought support for various financial packages as well clearance to the stalled projects.
He submitted a memorandum to prime minister Narendra Modi acquainting him about the near completion report of the four lane weather roads and railway project from Rishikesh to Karnaprayag with a most important demand for construction of a thirty kilometre long tunnel from Milan, Pithoragarh to Lapthal, Chamoli which will enable the Joharghati ( Johar valley) straight away connecting with Motorable road of Laphtal Chamoli in Garhwal, Uttarakhand. He requested the prime minister to expedite this project by giving his due approval expeditiously.
According to latest news the chief minister after meeting prime minister for the first time in Delhi after being sworn in and other union ministers he sought a massive horticulture financial package of Rs 2000 crores on the lines of Kashmir for the himalayan state apart from other demands.
While thanking prime minister Narendra Modi for his everlasting support and immense contribution in the development of Uttarakhand, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami after apprising him of the various developmental projects likely to be completed also requested for extension of compensation period with regard to GST in view of financial constraints including setting up of the Indian Institute of Science Education n Research in Uttarakhand compounded with granting of special permission for construction of Rishikesh – Doiwala Railway track n also shifting of Dehradun Railway station to Harrawala.
Urging the prime minister he requested him to grant immediate approval for constructing three tunnels in the state in order to lessen the time of travel.
He also assured PM Modi that his government will carry out relief and rescue operations for the border area villages and its populace during natural calamities in order to reduce the migration to cities and towns within Uttarakhand.
He also requested to sanction a budget of Rs 25 crore each to modernise police force in the state including granting of immediate approval to the state proposal for Rs 25 crore sanction for Nirbhaya Fund, already send to centre.
In order to promote Sainik schools in various parts of Uttarakhand, chief minister Dhami acquainted the PM about the agreement signed between ministry of Defence and Govt of Uttarakhand to establish a Sainik School at Jakholi, Rudraprayag in Chamoli district of Garhwal, urging him to facilitate infrastructure facilities in view of the existing financial constraints.
After reaching Delhi he was given a warm welcome by Uttarakhandies living in the national capital at Uttarakhand Sadan where the president of Uttarakhand Journalists Forum Sunil Negi and well known social activist and member of BJP state executive Pramod Raturi also congratulated him in separate meetings.
Senior journalist and UJF President Mr. Negi discussed about various problems being confronted by journalists especially digital journalists and requested him for their safety n security including resolving their pending grievances.
