UTTARAKHAND CM, SPEAKER and MLA KOTDWAR VISIT AFFECTED AREAS. ISSUED DIRECTIVES FOR RECTIFYING THE AWFUL SITUATION
In view of the massive rains and subsequent over flooding of Kotdwar massively leading to bridges going down and water with silt amd much entering majority of houses including roads and electricity being completely damaged and disconnected , the chief minister of Uttarakhand along with the Kotdwar lawmaker and speaker of Uttarakhand assembly Ritu Khanduri today visited Kotdwar and its affected areas with senior officers of all the departments instructing them to set right the situation at the earliest and re start connectivity of roads etc including restoration of electricity and other facilities.
The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and area MLA , speaker Ritu Khanduri visited the disaster affected areas of Kotdwar viz Gadighati, Kumbhichodh Ratanpur approach road, Haldukhaata Kishanpur Shikaddi Road on Malan river etc and issued directions for immediately renovate it and establish connectivity. He also inspected the damaged Malan bridge and assessed the extent of damage done during the monsoon excessive rains.
The CM also took the aerial view in a helicopter and saw the extensive damage of roads and water with silt entering majority of houses including the gushing river water flowing above mark.
The chief minister visited several other areas affected by the natural calamity and issued directions to ammend all the roads in order to establish connectivity including rectifying electric cables etc leading to power related problems in affected areas. It may be recalled that two three days ago the entire Kotdwar’s drains and rivulets were badly over flooded due to excessive rains leading to water overflooding of roads with excessive sand, silt and mud including flood water entering majority of houses damaging the articles n even houses. The Malan bridge was also damaged during the rains. There was panic all around. The chief minister has issued urgent directives to provide relief and rehabilitation to the affected people and establish road connectivity at the earliest.
