Uttarakhand CM accuses Rawat and Congress of appeasing minorities in Uttarakhand. The campaigning allegedly takes a communal angle
The Uttarakhand election campaigning seems to have allegedly taken a communal angle with the state’s two national parties and their leaders concentrating for and against the politics of appeasement towards minorities and majority community. While the Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi was busy addressing a virtual public meeting from Dehradun amid slogans of Mai Ladki hoon Lad Sakti hoon the chief minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami was busy accusing the Congress party and Harish Rawat for appeasing minorities of the state.
Speaking to media and subsequently tweeting the chief minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami has unambiguously accused the Congress party and former chief minister of Uttarakhand Harish Rawat n Devendra Yadav for promoting the politics of appeasement in favour the minority community for allegedly agreeing to bulit a muslim university in Uttarakhand if they come to power whereas the prime minister Narendra Modi is doing politics of justice to all. Speaking to media Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Sungh Dhami said that the “Char Dham Char Kaam”, ( Four Historic religious Portals and four important works”,) of Congress are establishing a muslim university in Uttarakhand after they come to power in the state.
He accused Congress n Harish Rawat of always appeasing the minority community and even declaring holiday for Muslims for Namaz while he was the chief minister of Uttarakhand. In his tweet two tweets posting his video speaking to media the CM wrote : In the name of politics of appeasement towards minorities giving them holiday for Jumme ki Namaz, the Congress party is talking of establishing a Muslim university in Uttarakhand. The God like inhabitants of land of abode of God’s will never never let Congress party fulfil this plan to destroy Uttarakhand.
In another tweet, the CM wrote : The people of Uttarakhand are Ram Bhakt and nationalists. The people of Uttarakhand will never accept the Congress party busy in appeasing the minorities. The BJP has been developing the state and will continue to do so tweeted CM Pushkar Singh Dhami tagging PM Narendra Modi, J. P. Nadda, Rajnath Singh, Prahalad Joshi and BJP.
Actually the controversy arose after the independent MLA Akil Ansari who turned hostile to Congress from Sahaspur Constituency Dehradun for not getting ticket earlier, while agreeing to withdraw his candidature against the Congress condidate Harendra Sharma, said that he has done so as the Congress leadership of Uttarakhand has agreed to fulfil his certain demands including setting up a muslim university for the students of Muslim community in Uttarakhand.
The video went viral in social media with people posting it on FB n twitter as below as tweeted by Deepti@kumaoni_woman: Yep! Harish Rawat/ Congress will open Muslim university in Uttarakhand and BJP will allocate money for giving scholarships, grants and aids to Muslim students.. enclosing the video of Akil Ahmed of Mr. Bagga, mentioning Harish Rawat said he will open Muslim university if he become CM.
Finding it a God send opportunity the BJP is also blaming Harish Rawat for not giving enough fund for Sanskrit University st Devprayag but now is appeasing the minority community of establishing a Muslim Community if the Congress comes to power in the state. It may be recalled that the Congress party is trying to appease its hostile candidates by giving them party posts as happened in Lansdowne and Rishikesh where Jyoti Rautels was appointed as Mahila Congress chief of Uttarakhand and Raghubeer Singh as general secretary of state Congress. The Rishikesh independent candidate Shoorvir Singh Sajwan was made the working president of state Congress and Sahaspur independent candidate Akil Ahmed as vice president apart from assurance for establishment of a Muslim university in Uttarakhand etc.
Meanwhile the Delhi Health minister Satyendra Jain today visited door to door to campaign support for AAP candidates in Doiwala, Dharampur n Raipur in Dehradun and claimed that AAP is winning on 45 seats in Uttarakhand.
