Uttarakhand chief secretary issues advisory making RT- PCR negative report mandatory for all those entering Uttarakhand from 1st April from other states

The Uttarakhand government has issued an advisory on 30 th March, Tuesday issuing unambiguous directives making it mandatory for all persons entering Uttarakhand to get themselves tested for Covid 19, about 72 hours in advance and get the RTPCR report to be produced if asked for by the Uttarakhand authorities when they enter the state from 1st April, 2021. In a advisory issued by the chief secretary of Uttarakhand Om Prakash it has been clearly stated that person’s travelling from the state’s namely : Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Karnataka, Chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Rajasthan by road, train and air to Uttarakhand are advised to carry negative RT – PCR test report after getting tested for Covid 19 72 hrs in advance, before entering any part of Uttarakhand. The advisory also mentions that person’s entering Uttarakhand from other states including those living in the hilly state shall strictly adhere to the norms of safety and social distancing as per the guidelines of MHA, ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the state government failing which the cases would be registered against the violaters under prescribed norms of DM ACT 2005, Epidemics Act 1897 and relevant IPC Acts. The advisory advised persons above 65 years of age n with comorbidities n children less than ten years of age to avoid travelling to Uttarakhand unless it’s quintessential. In addition, the district administrations of Uttarakhand would make necessary arrangements for random checks n Covid 19 testings at Airports, railway stations n bus depots etc n in case any person is found to be positive for Covid 19, the currently prevailing SOP would be adhered n followed for further care states the advisory. The copies of the advisory have been sent to all the departmental heads of all departments of Uttarakhand to ensure strict compliance of the advisory instructions.

Meanwhile the Uttarakhand chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat who is himself in home quarantine functioning from his official residence said that in view of the increasing cases of Covid 19 in Uttarakhand the the commencement of Mahakumbh at Haridwar issuing of advisory has become inevitable. Everyone is welcome to the state and Mahakumbh but with the Negative RTPCR report. He also catagorically said that the state has arranged 158 fully equipped new ambulances to deal with any eventuality during the Mahakumbh at Haridwar.
